Are you suggesting that the GFC has had officers on take trailing Brad, waiting for an opportunity to catch him out in order to squash any leverage Adelaide possessed just so we can get him in the Blue & White hoops on the cheap???

WOW. Huge conspiracy there mate, remember, you said it, not me ;)
I said it as a joke yesterday. I wasn't serious if anyone thought I was. :p

If we loose Cocky & narkle we need some players with pace

Will suck to lose Cockatoo but can’t blame him to potentially want a fresh start elsewhere, don’t mind if he goes to Brisbane and hopefully can see some of his talent shine.

As for Narkle, I really don’t want him to go, I’m hoping the players and Scott are in his ear to stay, but I know that our club do not get in the way if someone wants to go, we let them and tend to facilitate a trade to make sure they get the move.

Ben Brown doesn't fit the game style. Ben Brown also has knee injuries during the last season which effect his value. Cameron is a perfect fit style wise with no injuries during the last season that effect long term value.. And is a genuine level above Brown. Brown was probably worth the 800k North offered last year but Cameron is that next step up in value.

I'd have no problem paying Brown if he fit but he doesn't. Being a good player, doesn't mean we should sign them but Cameron is perfect.

I agree that Cameron is a great player and im not disputing his value just that we dont tend to pay the big big dollars regardless of how good they are and as mentioned with the Cap reductions its going to become tighter, i think he stays at GWS anyway.

Would take our last 1st rounder at the minimum to get Goldy and Higgins, no way we get them for a 2nd.

Which is why we will get Higgins and not Goldy. I doubt Goldstein has had a change in his family situation to let him come anyway.

Why? It means we aren't in the running if we can't offer much more. He ain't leaving for 50k more if thats what they are talking.

However, it does kind of confirm we are talking to him despite the speculation he wasn't talking to anyone else.

Hrmmm, $50k plus a better lifestyle, better fishing, better off field opportunities and a team that looks like it'll keep competing in a place that's closer to home, too.

Feeling will be offering more than $750k though

I would agree with you about any other position on the field bar FF, It does seem like the hardest to fill with quality. I reckon we would throw a lot at a ready made, middle aged proven FF if we had too. It would depend on what the Cats can see ahead of them in regards to internal development, other options coming out of contract over the next 2 years and Hawkins longevity. Stays at GWS is my guess as most others think.

Henry and Parfitt both have upside but this is Jeremy Cameron.

So if the club could trade Henry and Parfitt for Cameron, you would say no? Reality is that they could probably trade both for picks and then sign Cameron as a FA.
Reminds me of the Ottens / Moloney deal

If Giants don't match free agency offer they will get pick 9 as compensation which is better than any 1 pick we can offer. If they do match we would have to cough up 2 1st rounders.

I agree Cameron should be FA or not at all.

If Goldstein and/or Higgins are available for a second fine. Not using a first on them. Would have to package up Higgins, Brown and Goldstein for me to consider, which they won't.
Turn it up, if we got both for a late 1st rounder It’s a bargain if north cover some of their wage!!!!!

If we can’t get Cameron I’d rather just go with key posts 2021:

Hawkins + danger

Reserve: Esava

After Hawkins retires it’ll be:

Esava + danger

If we can’t get Cameron, there’s no point trying to go after complete dog sh*t just for the sake of it. You need backups sure, but quality over quantity
If we have that forward line forget it. We need to get better not worse to move forward!!!
