Technically was not a rd1
Well an end of round 1 pick which the AFL was kind enough to give in compensation for losing Motlop to Port - but still, even a pick that high you wouldn't trade for just any player in their mid-30s

Even for GAJ we only downgraded a couple of selections. Effectively post access to Wil Powell, Oscar Allen, Will Walker and Callum Coleman-Jones. All great players but I think we nailed our selection anyway

And we turned TK into 3 R1s. So essentially we traded motlop plus a 30s pick and a couple of late R3s for 3 years of Ablett 2 of TK and 3 R1s. Winning.

We also turned Lang into miers that year.

Interesting no real talk of 2 Metre Peter from Suns - is he that bad? Could he be a value get to compliment Hawk? Totally agree Brown is no option but 2MP is at least mobile and can provide a link/hit up target as well. I dont know his form that well - does he let the ball run our easily or something?
Reckon he goes very late in the trade period after the other more fancied forwards.

Well on Draft Board they are saying GWS offered Cameron 700k a year for 5 years and Geelong not offering much more.

Hope that's not true on our part.

3 at each club.

Allen is in eagles best 22.
Why would I need to name 3? You've named a guy who is promising but still years away from being able to play that role, a guy who has played 2nd/3rd tall successfully at other clubs but is only being used as a ruck option here, and a guy who has never played a game.

I agree it's not the worst list to have in the pipeline, but it's also not the number 1 line up.

Allen you are correct, I hadn't been keeping tabs on him.
