Not sure about freeman, but Wouldn’t mind Josh Walker going full circle and walking into our backlineWould your mob be looking at Nathan freeman? Would be a good cheap pick up if body can hold up good 6-7 years in him.

Yeah agree in regards to those guys, but Breust, Gunston, Shiels and hodge, Mitchell, Birchall before them, that’s the fabric of the club. That would kill me if Geelong managed the club that way.

I'd love us to grab Freeman with our last pick in the draft (if he's still there). Absolutely killed it with Frankston in the VFL this year and is ready to play. Former #10 pick in the draft, just crueled by hamstring injuries but seems to be over them now.Not sure about freeman, but Wouldn’t mind Josh Walker going full circle and walking into our backline

To be fair though, GAJ was never staying once the AFL got wind of their project getting the leagues best player, and Christensen wanted out for non-footballing reasons. We did have Stevie J, Chappy, GAJ, Kelly, Stokes, Byrnes, Varcoe, Christensen, West, King and Hunt all go on and play for other teams.
One would think the club internally would be able to gauge worth of players in our VFL side. They have done it before. If he is starring against others on our list ..he will be selected. If he is just a good honest toiler.. then probably not.

McLachlan Named in VFL Team of the Year
Jackson McLachlan has been recognised at 2021 VFL and VFLW Award ceremonywww.geelongcats.com.au
JACKSON McLachlan has been recognised for his standout season for the Bendigo Bank Cats at the 2021 VFL and VFLW Award ceremony on Thursday night.
McLachlan was named in the VFL Team of the Year on a half forward flank after a strong season for the Cats averaging 18 disposals, four tackles and a goal per game.
The 23-year-old made nine VFL appearances this year and was named in the best players in three games.
McLachlan’s best performance came in Geelong’s big win against Brisbane in Round 11 when he kicked 4.1 from 25 disposals and laid six tackle
Hocking said from his very first conference that priority 1 was extending Scott.Get f’ed.
To add to the rumour mill, at the end of the season Mitchell moved into a rental property. You don't move into a rental unless you think it's possible you are going to move do you? (Or he could have just needed a place to live)

yep, we really should be replicating the same approach, otherwise we're just setting ourselves up to repeat the same pattern as the last decade. They are in it to win flags though.
They did it to Brereton too after all those years of service.
Having won a flag 6 years ago, they average a flag once every decade. 2024 they are aiming for finals again.
Find it interesting we’ve put out so much social media about him this year.
It definitely shows we’re interested and he might get that rookie spot
If Fort is forced to stay and wants to move next year then he has no choice than to put in. If he does not then he runs the risk there are no takers next year if he wanted to walk. Need to keep putting good games together in the VFL if that is where he is playing to stay under notice.Regarding the Fort/Ceglar situation.
It sounds like Fort is pretty keen to get to Brisbane as maybe they have indicated more game time for him.
If this is the case, I think we may as well let him walk and pick up Ceglar.
If we keep Fort, does he have the motivation to work his arse off at Geelong again to try and get a game? I am not sure he does, considering he didn't get a game when Stanley was out this year anyway. The argument to that is that it is a contract year for him but not sure it would be enough as ruckman seem to get lifelines every year.
As for Ceglar, reports say he would like to play for the Cats and even more so then the Bulldogs. I am not sure why, but if this is the case then it sounds like he is motivated enough to put some pressure on Stanley and if that fails, he becomes greater depth then what Fort clearly provided. He also may have a point to prove to a club pushing him out with a year to run on a contract.
My preference would no doubt be to get a ruckman in that 23-27 age bracket but the options are limited and it doesn't look like happening.
Stanley fighting out for number 1 with Ceglar isn't the worst result whilst hopefully they give Neale and TSap more time in the ruck in the VFL.
The question would be his athletsim. I would have liked to have seen him at the combine.
That's a bloody good question. If you have to have one its easily Gunston.Just wondering what would people rather.
Geelong signing Rohan for another year or bringing in Guntson?
