This year in particular its ridiculous how long it is, just isnt the player movement to justify needing 2 weeks, most of these deals get done in 48 hours in reality, cut it down and save all the bullshit.

I'd love to trade Menegola. With Duncan and Smith holding down the wings, Menegola is surplus to needs and holds trade value.

Higgins, Dahlhaus, Rohan, and Narkle all seem to be surplus to needs but we'd be hard-pressed to find a suitor for any of them.

FWIW, this is how I see us lining up next year:

C: DUNCAN, O'CONNOR, SMITH

MISSING OUT: HIGGINS, DAHLHAUS, ROHAN, MENEGOLA, NARKLE, SIMPSON, DE KONING, STEPHENS, EVANS, CONSTABLE, CLARK (if he stays).

Menegola doesnt want to be traded and players very rarely get forced out against their will and he is a very underrated component of the team. That ship aint sailing.

That team needs kolo out for de koning imo and i dont think savs spot is locked down-though admittedly youd need someone who can hold down no1 ruck (ceglar etc) and then stanley to play the fwd/2nd ruck role as blicavs wont be rucking this year. Other than that its not too wide of the mark.

Anybody keen on Chad Wingard? At his best he's a super player and he looked to be back to his best late this year. If it's effectively him in for Clark I'd strongly consider it.

If we give up whatever we get for Fort to bring in Ceglar that's fine but honestly I'd probably prefer to just rookie list the best mature ruck in the state leagues as back up.

The problem is theres no decent viable mature rucks in the state leagues that have a realistic shot at being afl standard atm.
