Not sure if it’s been posted in here but Scott Gullan’s article today about Scott signing a new deal also mentions other coaching positions. Says Grigg likely to have increased role. And Solomon and Troy Chaplin are possible inclusions.

Chaplin would be a really good pick up, I think - obviously given his current job with Melbourne but also his background with Port and Richmond. Not a Geelong or a Leigh Matthews person.

I don’t think we’ll be overly active. The Clark trade about it. Future pick trading probably will wait for draft night.

If we give up whatever we get for Fort to bring in Ceglar that's fine but honestly I'd probably prefer to just rookie list the best mature ruck in the state leagues as back up.

Anybody keen on Chad Wingard? At his best he's a super player and he looked to be back to his best late this year. If it's effectively him in for Clark I'd strongly consider it.

I get the feeling the way Geelong had its pants pulled down, and the fact that the SCap is probably tight for most... that these teams trying palm off these rust buckets so they can buy a new model themselves is not working as well as it has in the past.

Maybe the afl could give the suns more cap and more spots... obviously picks have not worked they are trading the picks out with players to balance their cap

Which WAFL player is going to be happy to move across the country to basically play VFL? Doesn't sound like the best idea.

If there is a VFL this year (COVID)…
Any player moving from WA to Vic in this lockdown environment would be very nervous unless they were a Best 22 AFL lock in a Top 4 team. Long way to go to potentially NOT play any footy. At least over there they can play WAFL.

To be fair it seems like every 5 years a big name wants to come to Geelong, so it won't be til 2025 that we have someone else wanting to come to us. In the meantime lets get some talented local mids and try to unearth a new ruck or KPD.

Still suffering butt stretch from the Kersten deal.

That is a very recent phenomenon... for years we have quality players like Rawlings over look us.... and we were almost the last chance saloon. Carlton is not far away from being a destination again.the have built hard, now trading their R1's ..next FA..will go there. It would not surprise me if the make finals next year.


For us local players ... if they are good enough yes sign me up. Sometimes they have been too good. Been a few Falcons that have been #1 in recent years.
