So - pick 7.

Split to get Henry and Bruhn done, or take it to the trade and trade #18 and F1?
As I've posted, it will be the latter unless things change dramatically. Pick 7 is heading straight to draft night in Mackie's back pocket.

Pick 7 will have no bearing on Bruhn or Henry deals. Pick 18 to Collingwood for Henry is fair compensation - Bruhn is being shoved out the door as part of GWS broader cap issues and a deal will be struck. Still possibly a player involved in that deal.

Things will start to crank up now that the Bowes deal is done.

Pick 7 will be walked straight to draft night and used on Jhye Clark (if he's still available). Hawthorn might be the worry at Pick 6.

Either way, we'll use that pick wisely and end up with a very good player.
Reckon we'll try and snag p5

Love Bowes backing himself - if he stays fit he will slot right in at the Cats. If it's true Collingwood wanted 18 this year for Ollie, I say give it to them now, get it done. Then we have plenty of ammo to get Bruhn over the line and end up with a great outcome no matter what.
It would have been foolish accepting 18 before this announcement.

Knocked back significant amount of money by choosing Geelong. I rate this guy and think he overtakes a lot of our players
Perhaps Jake Niall and fellow bitter ones should read the bolded and understand that the club has a policy that the players have bought into - no one has forced them -but success requires sacrifice and Selwood making 200k and Tomma making 300k is the proof of that.

WE beat the system and did it better than anyone else. Dont sook about it - get better and try and match us.

Im sure the system will change now and we'll go again.... dont hate the player... hate the game.... that THEY made up lol

It's almost always wrong in hindsight, but at the time you can't really go wrong that high up the order.

Clark, Phillipou, McKenzie, Humphrey, Busslinger, Tstatas etc

We'd be pretty happy with any of the above.

Possibly. But we may not need to.

Amazing nowadays how a young kid can effectively call the shots (via his manager) and make it known where he wants to play. Happens regularly with interstate kids drafted by their local clubs, and I think it might be a factor with Clark. Is an interstate club going to waste a pick on a kid who's manager says "he wants to stay home so draft him at your own peril". And for all other clubs, the dark cloud, which is the Geelong go home factor, looms larger now than it perhaps ever has.

Plenty going on behind the scenes - but I think clubs with picks ahead of Geelong will be very wary of drafting Clark if those discussions are had. And it happens a lot more than what we're made aware. Pick 7 should be enough, and I think both Geelong and Clark will have a good idea on how things stand.
