As we are now getting into the season and we are starting to get a bit more serious with discussion, seems a suitable time to post the following as it's repeatedly shown itself to be a value reference tool in trade & draft discussion

And as per normal, thanks to Lore for putting this together - always a fantastic reference tool



And yes this post is now stickied - makes it easy to keep track of (can easily reverse this though if needed)

Club is always vague with timeframes but foster and neale are short term whereas conway will miss at least half the year imo.

If he is OOC contract ... what ever we get is a bonus. Imo, OOC players should be FA's.

As thats not the system , we would get something but probably something like a FR3 pick. Unless Port lose some players out themselves they have no R1 pick this year some will want to keep their R2 and R3

well, hawkins could well be on his way out by end of year which means another key post opens up. Esava can do the first back/fwd swingman who also ruck

I can see why hed want to leave there and hes a good player (makes sense given we could get him without giving up picks) but list wise im not sure we need another medium defender.

Can never have enough good players. If we can get him cheaply I'd be for it. In the right age range as well.

As you say, not a pressing need, but is good enough that he'd be worth a look. Could see him thriving in the Geelong system.

Geelong inquired about Doedee in 2020. I'm not sure he's a real need at the minute given we're reasonably young and settled in his position.

I remember reports of us being interested in him previously, but he just seems an awkward height in terms of our needs at the moment

He's not KPD height which could be an area of focus, and with the way Zach G came on last year we have found another option for hybrid medium defender who can play small or a bit taller

We don't necessarily know all the facts of what's going on behind the scenes - maybe there's interest and just keeping options open

In regard to Doedee, he is a very decent player and if it’s possible to get him for a bag of chips then I’d be down... although I do understand people questioning the need for him on our list.

I think it’s hard to get free agents as plenty of clubs will be into these players so you might just have to have a dip at a few of them early and then hope you can land one and then go from there.

Sure we would clearly want McKay more than Doedee... but I’d still take Doedee over nothing if that’s our only FA option.

He would improve our list yes.
Very underrated and with the way Henry’s feet have been of late why wouldn’t we get extra for cover

Yeah, okay. He might be on upward trajectory. If we are into Teakle, than it's not a straight swap for Esava (if we decide to trade him), but might involve a series of pick upgrades. Who knows, Esava we might not trade at all. There is also a possibility that they could turn SDK into a Key Forward like the Dogs did with Naughton. That's a possibility if we can't sign-up Neale. Still think SDK will remain a Key Defender though.

With Tuohy and Duncan off half back nearing the end, Bowes looking to play midfield, Mullin no certainty and Henry with a question mark I think Doedee very much fits a need. Especially if a bag of crisps is involved.

I would've considered something a bit unconventional in this game, and played Knevitt at FF @ 193cm... because he is supposedly quick off the mark (even though hasn't really shown it on the footy ground), but he can also mark overhead.
