Nah I thinks it’s 3 for 2.
Or just pick 8 for 15 & 17.
FWIW Going in with 15, 17 & 18 is better then 8 & 25 IMO.
I have a gut feel that the crows are balls deep into O’Sullivan if so we could fleece them badly..
🤷‍♂️ did someone say 10-14-20 for 8 & 25 ??😂😂😂
Here’s to optimism!! Can’t wait for draft day.

10-14-20 for 8-25 would be almost a no brainer. Can’t see that being offered though.

Reading through the draft rumours you can see why Mackie is so happy with our pick 8. It is the last pick of that top crop of - Reid, Duursma, Curtin, McKercher, Watson, Sanders, Caddy and O'Sullivan:

Where Curtin lands will determine the rest of the top 8. If North pass then he could easily slide as far as GWS or us.

After that you can throw a blanket over the next 10-12:

Darcy Wilson, Ollie Murphy, James Leake, Caleb Windsor, Lance Collard, Koltyn Tholstrup, Arie Schoenmaker, Riley Hardeman, Archer Reid, Koen Sanchez, Will Green, Charlie Edwards, George Stevens.

Expect Essendon and Adelaide to come hard for our first pick. Or Hawks/North to help them get pick 1 for Reid. I can also see Mackie trying to trade up to pick 5/6 to try to get Sanders.
Definitely a lot of options for us. But this will all play out on the night I expect.

If by Melbourne's pick there's someone in the board we love perhaps we try to trade up using 25 + F2? They might do that if they don't have a major preference of player at that point.

On the other hand if we're not super keen on the player who gets through to us I would expect us to trade it away and mainly look at future picks. Eg does Freo offer 2x future 1sts if Curtin gets through to us?

Patrick Weckert, a KPF from SA, looks a pretty good late prospect. Played against men for Woodville's reserves side for most of the year and kicked a few bags, including a haul of 8 below:

Why haven’t we heard much about this kid? Moves really well. Looks more likely than some of the other tall prospects being discussed to me.

I agree, seems weird. A bit like Jordan Dawson in his draft year, played SANFL league all year and was hardly discussed come draft time. Thought Weckert did only kick one goal from four Champs games.

Can we get that draft pick table stickied to the top of this thread as per part 2 please mods?

It'll be done shortly - I decided to enjoy a day off work, and after initially walking up early, I managed to fall back asleep until just now

I know that Lore worked on a few other draft related info posts as well, so I'll have a look at all those very shortly and get something stickied

I would not be looking to swap the picks we have.

I'd hope they use pick on a tall defender.. Curtin is unlikely to be available so O'Sullivan or Murphy would be the targets, Caddy if for some reason they aren't available.

Pick 25, I'd be after George Stevens. Linked to us already and played a couple of VFL game (picking up 29 possessions in his last game)

25 wouldn't even buy us a 1 pick upgrade
Purely depends on the players available and what the clubs want.

There would be situations where it would get us the upgrade... but only in certain situations that could happen.

Right now it would be no chance... Live on draft night after it becomes clear who is avail then the chances increase.

Time will tell but having 25 could be handy in the right circumstances and it opens up more potential options for us.

Pretty sure we have talked about this kid at some stage ...I remember looking at this vid. The mark at 1.15 is a hint there might be something there

Think it opens up more options if we trade down. Which we will receive far more offers about than going up regardless.

The Weckert vid is also a year old, that was him as a 17-year old playing SANFL Reserves. Seems he didn't come on this year given his quiet champs performances, but still kicked some bags for Woodville ressies, including five in a semi-final.

As we move from the trade period and into draft talk, this becomes a useful go to tool

And this one will go behind a spoiler tag - can be opened at ones leisure

For this one, just click/tap the different blue tabs to look at the different options - one thing to keep in mind with this one is that it's currently based on the 2023 finishing order, so will change

Don't believe this needs to be a sticky post anymore

Does anyone know if it is possible to find a list of all players that have nominated for the draft?

Being hidden by Adel/Port?

Correct. I've thought for a little while now, that the only way we can guarantee getting Sanders, is by offering up a Future 2nd to either GWS or Melbourne, to swap spots with us. Pick 25 wouldn't achieve a thing, but a mid 20's pick next year to move 1 or 2 spots while staying in that 'elite' bracket - that may do it.

No guarantees, but it's more likely to achieve something, as opposed to Pick 25 in this draft - which is essentially worthless for movement at the top end.

Will be interesting to see on draft night, that's for sure.

All the people who obsess and often get attached to players they want to draft, miles out from the draft even happening.
Stop, read this post very slowly and carefully.

I have developed the fool proof system for how to assess the talent and our draft haul.

Simply put, everyone needs to stop pretending they are junior talent gurus or experts... and follow my patented 7 step program

1. Go in to the night with no knowledge or expectations
2. Wait to see who we draft.
3. Watch the 45 second highlight package of said player
4. Immediately fall in love with said player
5. At the end declare we have AGAIN won the draft
6. Sit back and enjoy the ride
7. Profit

Cool so let's not discuss anything for the next 30 days - on a forum for discussing prospective draft and trade talent.

Cheers bud :)

Did you forget to change from your burner account?

Hoping for a Joel Selwood with pick 8 and a Tim Kelly with 25 be back draft night to watch it come true.
