Cheers - but unfortunately in a comp so tight it’s no guarantee - we’ve promised a lot for a while and we’ve definitely made another step and no doubt we’re stiff to go down but there’s still an element missing - at no stage was I ever confident because we lack that ruthless element. I'm not so sure it does....so few of them played to their full potential today and we know that when they do they are unstoppable. Get Ashcroft back will be a difference too....

The Brisbane side that played today is on average about a year younger than the Collingwood side. They had eight players aged 30+ to our four (including Lyons who was the sub). I think our list is still in a pretty good spot to contend.

Yep - Lions had all the momentum in those precious moments - it should have been called back - long bomb into the goal square and who knows could have been a completely different outcome ? But it definitely wasn’t advantage

No the player has to take the advantage - this was not the case - it was continuous - I’ve seen many players take it and stuff it up - but the player has to TAKE the advantage and clearly no one did. It was a poor decision.

Rayner needs a coach assigned with a focus on fitness. Needs to get to a level where he can play proper midfield difference. De Goey showed us what we need from him. If anything is going to make him hungry enough to get to the next level, it's a grand final loss.

Problem was that Neale was legged while handballing the ball forward. With all the noise, no one would have heard anything. The umpires should have realised this and immediately brought the ball back.

Zorko is an interesting one - he still gets the ball, especially when we desperately need it most, but he's like Rich last year - trying kicks he just can't nail any more.

If he could play it safer I'll keep him in our best 22, because it's his possessions that are the big win. But I'm not sure he's got the mindset to do that.
