i think it's more just the experience that comes with getting older
i've been through all those awful emotional rollercoasters of grand final weeks, going back to 96, when we led by four goals (from memory) late in the first half and then it all went wrong
and i know what we've all endured in 14, 16 (faaaarrrk!) and 22
and i guess we could be in for another grand final horrorshow, but i'll deal with the misery of grand final defeat if and when it happens ... but it's pointless wallowing in that mire beforehand
i empathise with everyone who is going through the very understandable anxiety of being a swans fan in grand final week ...

My husband and I were just going for a walk around Yarra Park and I said to him that I am feeling unusually calm, this time last week I was a blubbering mess!
Not sure if my relaxed state of mind today is because I am so confident in the boys this year or simply just relieved to have made the GF.
Either way, it's certainly better than last week.

Have been confident since pre season since talking to a high insider , that we were not ready in 22 and set ourselves for 24/25 and everything else that was said has come true .
In 96 i was that nervous i wiped myself out after the parade , have just got the confidence that this could be our gretest most even team in history !

I can tell you why I am confident, We have been the best team all year, finished 1st, playing the team that finished 5th, who struggled to beat us at home when we were depleted throughout the game, they don’t have our talent, and don’t have the shite that Papley brings…..we know the depths of getting pumped in a Grannie…that doesn’t phase us, the boys seem to have a great maturity, Grundy is going to be massive, and our three pronged fwd line puts Andrew’s in a state of flux.. …..and negative thoughts sap too much energy.
