Clearly we all want to get together.

The club organized functions are expensive, and out of reach for many who have spent too much on flights, accommodation and tickets. , Just like the Afl, this is a cash opportunity for them. Not a heartland experience.

Dom is doing an excellent job, but he can't cater for the hordes. He doesn't have the organization resources behind him.

Someone mentioned that last time there was a get together at brunswick oval on the Sunday. Imagine that now, with a bunch of food and coffee trucks, some music playing. Not upfront fee, just come and hang out.

Would be awesome.

Grand Final week really is capitalism at its worst hey

Children sewing sneakers together for 14 cents an hour in a Bangladeshi sweatshop might edge it out.

I think Mr Ripper ran one of the first sweatshops ever in this country.

Dom's done a heap of work at short notice to pull stuff together. Sounds like there will be 250ish crammed into the Derby on Thursday afternoon which will be a great start to the weekend.

You don't want to know what Dodongo is up to...
Finally booked in for the silicone implant…unfortunate timing, hope it’s nice and symmetrical for you

I'll be doing my duty as the best man to my friend's wedding overseas.

I plan on staying off my phone and away from anything news related until I get the chance to watch a replay but does anyone have any idea how I can watch the replay with the full post game lap/wrap up? I know I can watch a replay on AFL.com but it's always cuts out straight after full time.

Get the best of both worlds, buy a commerative jersey during Grand Final week.

Could you download 7plus and watch it there

Not footy related but thinking of heading to Moonee Valley races friday night.
Otherwise will be in a pub in Fitzroy somewhere.
Kind of keen to see the kick across the Yarra on Saturday morning, always enjoyed watching that on TV.
Having lived in Essendon until this year and playing ressies at Moonee Valley, I can vouch for the Friday night races. It's usually a great night and atmosphere with decent food thanks to a very good catering provider.

I too am likely to attend the captain's run and parade on Friday, then the Fox Footy longest kick on Saturday morning.

I'd be open to a pre-game BF Lions board pub catch-up with anyone as well.

Strange question for the male punters, but what attire are we all thinking? My default is the collared shirt and scarf, however it might be fairly uncomfortable given the forecasted heat (which has just risen to 28).

Ideally, I'd do the shirt and jeans with a guernsey over the top, but that may limit the available venues post-game.

I am going with an ensemble that will include this years Indigenous Polo shirt, with the traditional home strip guernsey over the top and a battered well worn traditional 2007(no paddle pop Lion) cap.

I will be trying to look like a silk purse starting from my usual base of a sows ear.

I actually reposted this scene on my socials after taking my partner to the prelim final over the weekend.

I had avoided taking her to games all season (mainly to shield her from the fact that I'm a complete nuff), however she eventually made her Lions debut in what was my first finals game. I warned her prior what to expect and that I am a completely different person at the footy which was (hopefully) enough for her to mentally prepare herself.

Hi everyone,
I will be at Carnegies Bar in Singapore. Sg is 2 hours behind Melb so the game will start at 12.30.
The day is organised by the only footy team in Singapore (the wombats) and there will be beer, pies and even 2 StK players coming for the day.
I can't wait!
Cheers,
MArk

Just a warning to everyone, there is no event here in Singapore in 2023 as this post was written in 2001!

Just got word there will be a Roar Deal brunch in Fed Square on Saturday morning. 10:30-12, approx $90 per person.
So are many people going to this? Still trying to work out what to do on GF day pre-game.

Are there any other gatherings/marches to the G?

Where have you been great man?
I’m interested.

Dodongo has been busy. But Dodongo also knows there is so much of Dodongo that people can deal with so Dodongo likes to appear every now and then. Dodongo reads the board all the time though. Dodongo thought being Grand Final week that Dodongo would clear out Dodongo's schedule and make an appearance.
