Hey there Morro ;)

I was a Grigg fan until he requested to be traded at the last minute before he
boarded a plane for overseas 2 days ago.

Personally I hope that we don't accept a trade from the Tigers & he goes into the PSD where WC have 1st pick.

That will show him as he has scewed us.

He is obviously wanting a trade to Richmond for the $$$$$$$.

Some players think it is a given that they get selected every week as they are a top 20 draft pick.

As we all know, it doesn't work that way.

The boy can play, though at times his kicking is a little erratic.

We'll see what happens next week.

See you before Rnd 1 :p

Hey Aph, how are you sweetheart? Long time no banter, I have missed you :p

Thanks for the info, cant wait for trade week, one of my fav times of the year.

I am attending rd 1 this year, so I might actually see you ;)

Not in a weird stalker way of course haha

Richmond may be a lot of things, but at least we don't have criminals supporting the club with their illegally gotten gains

Lol.

Didnt you guys appoint Alan Bond as your president at Richmond in 1986?

This guy:

Alan Bond (born 22 April 1938) is an Australian businessman noted for his criminal convictions and high-profile business dealings, including what was at the time the biggest corporate collapse in Australian history.

In 1997 Bond was sentenced to 7 years in prison after pleading guilty to using his controlling interest in Bell Resources to deceptively siphon off AUD$1.2 billion into the coffers of Bond Corporation. The funds were used to shore up the cash resources of the ailing Bond Corporation, which spectacularly collapsed leaving Bell Resources in a precarious situation. Bond was released in 2000 having served four years in prison

Oh, and FWIW, Pratt was never convicted of any crime.

Bring up the tanking so I can refer you to the link for your ex coach Wallaces admission that you tanked for Cotchin.

I dare you.

I rate him highly but the way he has handled this shows where his head is at. Maybe a new club will set him right....but its Richmond so probably not.
In saying that I think Richmond is going to get a bargain.

This Grigg trade is interesting, it would appear we have thrown some coin at the kid yet even yourself seem a little cautious about the type of player he could be.

Yeah. Potentially a good player but with his attitude, work ethic and glaring deficiencies still in his game he's no sure thing.

Hey mate, yeah we tore Radelaide apart, I am potentially still drunk and havent had a drink since last Sunday haha.

Poor Adelaide, one less state Bugsy will be allowed in :D

As a Hawthorn supporter I would like to get Grigg in the brown and gold. would think our pick 19 would be a more than fair swap. What do reckon?

Also what would be a fair swap for Andrew Walker?

TBH mate, you are paying overs. Grigg wants out, and specifically to Richmond, which puts Carlton on the back foot. Grigg's actual talent-wise value is between 20-30, his current value is in between 35-45.

Walker is probably staying right where he is

Not sure Carlton would be after Thursfield, while i rate him as our best defensive defender, Carlton already have Jamison whose very good defensively (although did struggle in 2010) but both are too similar as far as not giving much offensively, Thursfield and Jamison are probably too similar players for Carlton to really be interested

That's probably a fair bit of the reason Swann came out twice in two days and said we don't want Thursfield at Carlton.

Thursday morning Swann was on SEN & said that Grigg's re-signing was close & nearly finalised.
He was on SEN to quash the James McDonald rumours & KB asked him about Grigg

Then Grigg takes off overseas in the afternoon & tells his manager to organise a trade.

Don't slam the door on your way out Grigg !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so Grigg has not gone away with the rest of the club? No Tequila swilling south of the border? The bloke sees his chances of solidifying a place in our 22 slipping so wants to play elsewhere. It means we have a list not needing him anymore. goodluck to him and goodluck to the likes of Kane Lucas

According to Greg Swann on SEN last week, Thursfield is Fremantle bound.

Look Grigg has no awarness and can't kick so good luck to the boy if the tigers are paying him an extra $100k.

I suspect most fringe players with potentially only one more contract in them woud and should jump at it.

The tigers midfield potentially whilst not as good has more depth than ours so not sure he will get a game.

Delido, Martin, the cotch, foley, tuck, jackson etc all much better players than him.

GC still keen I have been told. Surely they would look at getting more uncontracted players, basically just because they can. He has talent so he would be worth a spot on their list.

Still fuming about this.

Unfortunately, GC17 is still a possibility. It'll get down to $'s - i.e. a GC17 Versus Richmond bidding war. GC17 have a much brighter future than the Tiges, especially with Ablett on board. Not sure if team- success is a factor though.

Very disappointed by this trade request. I expected better. Still a slim chance he'll do the right thing though.

:)

I wonder if that is his call or the clubs? Either way enjoy sleazy Thailand. Cheers aph. Anybody from CFC you do not tweet?

Well that was the rumour doing the rounds last week, that Carlton were looking to get Laidley as an Assistant or Director of Coaching. Both would involve Ratten coaching from the boundary and Laidley, being one of the great tactitians in the game, coaching from the box.

Mitch Brown flew to Melbourne yesterday to watch his brother. I would be very suprised if Carlton didnt ask to have a quiet word with him.

Still in the race for Tarrant but the decision comes down to Collingwood. If they want him he is theirs. I suspect they will take him and Presti will retire.

Apparently we could land Mckinley.

Walker has nominated the Bulldogs as his prefered destination for 2012, but will stay if a deal cannot be worked out.

Thanks BIB :thumbsu:

Would be fantastic for the Club if we can get Laidley.

Would love Mitch Brown but not too keen on McKinley.

As for Tarrant, I can't see us getting him.
As you mentioned, Presti will most likely retire & Tarrant will fill Presti's spot at the Pies.

Do you think that we can get a deal done with the WB for Walker? (not Everitt please).
I hope he stays.

As for Grigg .......... MEH!!!!!!!!

with brown and reid looking great doubt they would want Tarrant

If it's true that Grigg went to the B & F, but then rang the club the next day instead of telling them in person, then that's a pretty weak act. I doubt that anyone would make up their mind to leave overnight. I have doubts about Grigg making it if that's an example of his attitude and personality.
