GWS will win the flag if they get to the GF. The MCG will suit their style to a tee and if they get the jump early it could get ugly.

lol, did you happen to catch the results yesterday?
Yeh, and are the Swans knocked out yet? No. If they played again. How short is your memory? Last year the Hawks lost to the Eagles and then mauled them a few weeks later at a different ground. If the Swans meet GWS in the GF, the Swans are winning that match I guarantee.

Surely one thing that must have been learnt is that any team can win on a given day. Last week's champs become next weeks chumps and vice versa, pretty regularly. For purposes of betting (my team is on holiday at the mo!), I'm looking at depth, injuries, suspensions as much as form against a particular opponent.
Next week, given no personnel surprises, I think Hawks beat Dogs, and Swans beat Crows (the double rebound effect in each case which I think in finals in recent years happens often).

Swans aint that good on the G, m8. The AFL has already screwed them by making them play at home final on ANZ cow paddock, another ground that they arent so special on. The fix is in.

They may well win 4 or 5 Premierships in the next 10 years? They may win none but still be round the top of the ladder. But after that 10 year cycle they will more than likely be down the bottom like Brisbane with no supporters.

The Giants want to win it this year, or not. As soon as they win something the AFL will pull hte rug from under them, citing such rules as" you can't have everyone", and impose regular sanctions like a trade or draft ban for following rules put in place and governed by the AFL

The AFL should of shut down the shit VFL clubs and had a dispersal draft with the Suns and Giants entering the league in the same year. Shit teams like Richmond, Carlton, Doggies, Norf, Melb should have been all in the firing line (for their poor performances not their profit margin) with 3 being shut down and players dispersed to the Giants and Suns via a 2 team draft. The flood of top 10 picks was pretty shocking. Each team should of been given picks 4 and 5 in the draft for 2 years and then left to their own devices.

Dont get the conspiracy theory about SJ being let off just because he is a GWS player. Jeremy Cameron got 4 matches for a high bump at the start of the year.

The above is the reason i dont even bother with the main board, but ill entertain you anyway:

At the end of the day remember where you came from, you wouldnt even have a team if not for the VFL, sunshine.

Love the tears from people who think the AFL is still the VFL. Especially from supporters of clubs who couldn't win premierships even without the Giants or Suns in the league (such as Richmond, who have been a perennial failure for 30 years now despire having all the advantages of being a Big 4 club). The Giants have won ONE final and people are already claiming them as a dynasty. Now, the Giants may well win some flags in the coming years... and then the competition will eventually even out, they'll return to the pack and be just another AFL club.

The Giants win yesterday was great to see. A bunch of young kids winning their first ever final in front of 60k people in a non-AFL state. An important win too in the overall scheme of growing the game of Australian Rules football. How many young kids in the crowd yesterday who were maybe attending their first ever AFL match will now get behind the Gaints and support them for the next 50+ years of their life? The Sydney media were all over the game too, which is rare. Great promotion for the AFL.

I'm sure none of you are complaining when you poach the young GWS talent that the AFL "handed" them.

It has seriously diluted the talent pool in the AFL, and allowed teams like hawthorn to entrench a dynasty.

Any team that had sorted out their list pre GC and GWS were laughing all the way to the bank.

Oh, teams unless you had some nice retention allowances so that you could roflstomp the trade table with 7 year deals to compensate for player's cost of living.

Now prepare your butt for another Brisbane era of dominance.

Expansion and growth over an equitable competition.

Not discounting the shrewd list managment and coaching of the hawks though - been elite.

So what are you actually complaining about? Sydney's allowances have netted them one premiership in the time that Hawthorn have won 4 with no concessions....

Sure i would, they just wouldnt travel across the country every second week sunshine

I remember a time when people were shitting their pants about a possible Collingwood dynasty a few years ago. Young side that had pinched a flag a year or 2 ahead of schedule. Granted they didn't have the depth of this current Giants side, but things don't always pan out as expected.

See what happens.
