What in ____'s name was he thinking?
It's kind of ironic, i've read1 or 2 articles in the past few days talking about how that trouble-starting-punching-and-getting-suspended Barry Hall was dead and he's turned a new leaf. Probably the biggest brainfart in recent history.
Maybe he was just lulled into a false sense of security because of how easy the MRP goes on Sydney and thought he'd get off

Work it out for yourself goose.Dont hang on and scrag him because you know you can get away with it because he is Barry Hall and you can actually get away with sodomy on him and the umpires still wont give him a free kick.Come to think of it i wouldnt put it past Staker for making unwanted advances.

Apparently (according to channel Aten) the "recipe" adds up to four weeks. I'll take that if it's offered.
There are no points hanging over him (more than 2 seasons since last offence...Maguire)

No it's the truth, look up the stats for teams that get most free kicks, hello weagles are right up there. Kerr can get tackled, spun around three times & still doesn't get called for holding the ball.

It was obviously enough in play for staker to have been holding him. Had the free kick been paid it wouldnt have happened in the first place.
I would say precaution but they are other "theories" floating around...

There's no way you can justify it. The punch was clear and hit it's mark, Hall was in complete control of what he was doing and his own ego took out any sense of normal semblance he has. This is a footy field not a boxing ring. 4 weeks is weak at least 5 or 6 minimum. The most disturbing part of it was seeing stakers eyes just roll back such was the impact. THink of it as seeing your best mate get struck down or your kid or whatever. Bloody appaling
Hunter and the concrete stand in Melbourne playing against Geelong 2005 or 2006...I remember the crowd cheering the blood pouring down his face.
He looked very pale the whole time. Walking very, very slowly and carefully right on half time, and only started running straight lines towards the end of the third. Concussion for sure.
Im pretty sure he would have had a little headache as well

-Cowardly king hit which was a full blooded strike on an unsuspecting player
-Could have done very real damage, with permanent injuries
-Total cowardly unprovoked attack
-Conduct bringing the game into disrepute
-Thuggery on the playing field still against the law and will not be tolerated
-History = thug
-10-12 weeks and should get rubbed out for the season
Just lucky it was in Sydney, if he had been here in WA the thug wouldn't have made it out of town without a police escort. looking forward to seeing the AFL coming down like a ton of bricks on him.
