Honestly seems like some teenager who is sick of Richmond flags has taken a true story, mixed it with bullshit and posted it to a mate, blurred names and it got viral.

Agree that Dimma will likely not be sacked, but something has gone down imo.

I remember there was a rumour during last season that half of the Collingwood players were going to get suspended for gambling breaches. It was fake and it was circulating for half a week on social media before the Collingwood football club and the AFL came out to debunk it.

I doubt this is true. If he was sacked before the club closed for Christmas, surely we would have heard by now officially. The club offices are closed till the 20th. Why would they sack the coach during the time when board members are on holidays? It just doesn't make sense. FWIW, I heard he had an affair with a Carlton staffer. Now that's a sackable offence!
Anyway, we are a club that goes through process. We don't pull the trigger without a thorough analysis. That is why I think it's BS.

IF true it's not a sackable offense but ethically it's against the professional standards of most organisations and can create a perception of conflict of interest or preferential treatment by others within the organisation even if that's not actually happening.

Considering most of what's been built at the club has been built on professional behaviours, there would be a bit to answer for from both Dimma and the +1 as well as feedback from staff to ensure the club culture remains strong but it shouldn't be addressed to anyone outside of the club.

Where there's smoke there's fire but this is now way out of control with inconsistencies about Rance and the female in question and the timeline so there's more more falsehoods than truths in the twitter storm but regardless could be an interesting few days until this dies down.

agree/disagree on this issue, I think it is creeping wowserism that has made relationships at work 'unethical'.

People who work together will also choose to bump sensitive bits of themselves against each other from time to time, inevitable and no big deal at all.

I think the rules should be: work relationships are fine, with any power vector, but must be declared openly, and clear HR mediation pathways in place in case of accusations of misconduct/favouritism.

I think rumour is true. On the Richmond fc site in the milestones section it says Benny Gale played his last game against Lions in 2001 final 20 years ago. He left disappointed and the wound hasn’t healed and has reopened on that anniversary. Blames Dimma. Wanted him
gone. As good as confirmed by club with that milestone reference.
