Doesn’t matter - if they don’t nominate us can’t use it

We are early in rebuild.

Keep playing enjoyable footy, youth getting better every year. They will come.

This wasn’t a crack at a A grade player, it was for the draft pick.

I don’t think we should be worried that a player like bowes didn’t come to us.

Good get from cats but let’s focus on A grade talent next year and beyond.

The heat has been run.

Time to move onto the gold medal race for Paddy Dow 😍

Means nothing when you don't land the biggest deals. Amon is a quality pick up, but give me another top 10 pick any day.

Edit: at the least we will be able to offer good coin to keep our best young players. Cold consolation.

Amon is nice and glad we're using some of our money on something productive.

But given our list position another top 7 pick was more important if I got to choose one, not sure we'll be relevant at the pointy end of the table in Amon's timeline.

It shouldn't, but I think whatever we get for Mitchell suddenly takes on more importance for those in here emotionally. If it doesn't feel adequate it could be quite challenging for some!

Hopefully we can have a net positive experience by the end of this trade period!
It has to be inside 30 or i am tuning out

I hate to say it but the cost of not playing your best 22 each week is winning less games now and being less attractive to trade targets and free agents. We imagine bowes decision was partly based on where Geelong are in the premiership window. Let’s hope we get a payoff next season for the time our into kids and win more games. Being able to attract the best players to our club will be critical in transforming the list. We need to be appealing.

We'll be lucky to hold our ground and win 8 games and repeat our 13th placed finish next season.

Losing plenty of experience many holes in our best 22 and extremely raw.

Far out, the rich get richer. Have to admire Geelong and Sydney for being able to regenerate their lists and stay at the pointy end of the ladder whilst never really slipping too far.

This is just ridiculous, not even necessarily Bowes but the pick 7 piece plus all the others we are after.

We aren't a very attractive club to go to.

People need to start accepting this rather than thinking it was the other club that wanted too much so we walked away or other interesting theories I see posted on here.

Agreed. Huge risk of a slide. Better hang onto our future first!

Every ace?

Seriously?

I’d suggest they played the exact same talent-luring ace we did in our recent premiership era.

The ace that frequently trumps all others.

Heaps more money to play with

More game time to offer etc

The only thing Geelong had was we're a contender can't pay you anywhere near as much but in the unlikely event you're best 22 you might win a flag. Credit to Bowes I suppose for thinking he'll be best 22 at Geelong and taking less money.

Get a grip Hawks and have some self respect.

Young Jack will come to relise the cats only wanted him for pick 7. An he will spend his days on less money in the VFL.

Us Hawks have always done it the hard way ( no favours ) an we will be good again.

We have a great bunch of young guys with a lot of improvement left in them still and they want to improve. So man up and move the fk on and cheer our boys on!
