Amen. He has been hopeless for a long time but is inexplicably still picked each week.
We get a better trade for him if he plays?

Was great intensity to tackle, hurt and win the ball but I agree that there was a lack of movement which meant few or no good options to kick to. Lost count of how many times we'd have a player trying to make that next kick from half back flank and the best movement we'd get would be a light jog or a half assed lead before the player was forced to just put it high and long down the line. And a lot of those were picked off.I hear you, but at least he isn't just bombing blindly - he tries to escape or create, which can lead to stuff ups.
The more frustrating thing for me is when Hartung or Hill or Smith get it, start to run and they look up there is nothing to kick to, or worse, all our forwards are standing in each others hip pockets allowing a massive pack to form, which than creates the long bomb from our runners that than leads to rebound run and gun we struggle to contain, instead of spreading the defense and taking marks from leading at the ball carrier.
Still more than half the season to go to get this sorted out
Mitch hasn't been great the last couple of weeks, at his age that = cooked until proven wrong.Listening to SEN this morning, you'd think the Swans towelled us up by 100+ points last night. The media are just ridiculous, Hawthorn wins and we're premiership material. The moment we lose, it's all over for us. One comment that made me switch off was that Sam Mitchell look cooked last night and has possibly gone a season too long. Admittedly, that was a caller, not the SEN commentators, but do people actually think before they open their mouths any more?

It could happen but I hope not yet. Everytime one of our older players looks off the pace questions will be asked.
The whole media last night and today have given Hawks very little credit for last night's efforts and talked the swans up like they played well against a full strength and focused opponent.
You'd think Buddy dominated and none of our forwards did anything.
Also not a single mention of the umpires at all as if this game was umpired perfectly, you can see the narrative this year, if we lose we are done if we win, controversial umpiring helped
Ceglar lost us the game
Unfortunately I think this year we will be a couple of key positions down.
Mainly key forward.
Gunston is a gun and all class. Doesn't kick huge bags but is always a contributor.
Hawks have the greatest collection of small forwards I have ever seen. The media fawn over Betts and co, but they don't hold a candle to Breust, Cyril and Poppy. They all have strengths as players and they compliment each other.
Unfortunately they are not as effective this year as they could be as we are light a key position forward.
This is absolutely NOT a dig at Sicily or TOB at all. I think they have both shown glimpses and promising signs. But we all know it takes years for key forwards to develop. Even Rough and Bud took 2-3 seasons before they could impact games consistently, and that was fast tracking their careers by playing them when they weren't ready.
I see our season as a bit like Adelaide in 2013 (except this group has achieved things and aren't pretenders). The crowd had a lot of eggs in the Walker basket. When he did his knee at the start of 2013 they were forced to play Lynch and Jenkins and use them as targets, it fast tracked their development and now you would say Walker is probably their worst key forward (and a sook but that's not relevant).
Key forward is the hardest position to fill. That's why the $wans used all their COLA to steal the best one. Otherwise you need a first round draft pick. Hawks are going well considering the picks they have had and where they managed to get TOB and Sicily in the draft.
It might not happen in time for this year, but these 2 will be better off for the games they have played. It'll be good for the $wans as well as they can pick either of them up by offering extra rental assistance if they start to fire.
Hawthorn were soft tonight - SOFT. Played like they didn't want to get hurt, stupid handballs, going to ground and running themselves into trouble. Their decision making was ridiculously bad. I saw both rucks try and grab the ball off the ground, stand up and then kick directly into a Hawthorn or Sydney player's body at least 5 times. People can complain about the umpires all they want, but they don't affect the effort of the players....
When his speed is not needed ,out on the wings , Clarko will change , I think its close , he costs us every week, but when it works for him he is great, I think he needs a rest at Box Hill.Amen. He has been hopeless for a long time but is inexplicably still picked each week.
It looked as if the plan last night was to send chaos balls into our forward line and backing our small forwards to win it on the ground.
A couple of times I noticed our players change the position of the ball from traditional drop punt to an end-over-end kick.
The problem was these kicks drop a little short and our while our forwards were focused on running back into the space the Sydney defenders were able to mark the ball.
I like the idea, just need to execute it a bit better.
Yes they did try and they'll only get better. Good positive Post , I may have to listen to you more often!Bad kicking is bad football. Funny though I thought this was the best game our young guys have played.
Yes, set shots were our loser last night, but , those two trips in the third, I think , I nearly threw a brick at the TV set, it wouldn't have mattered Perth is being blown away this morning, power is dead and TV is dead! HAHA !Do all teams from north of the border get to "rugby tackle" around the ankles or just this lot?
Still, our set shot kicking was awful.
OUR LOSS WAS NOT THE UMPIRES, BUT THE UMPIRING WAS ATROCIOUS STILL.Can't blame the umps our forward entries were horrible, Sicily and O'brien never even looked like kicking the set shots. Good to get more games into the young blokes.
Surprised my remote bounced and remained functional.Yes, set shots were our loser last night, but , those two trips in the third, I think , I nearly threw a brick at the TV set, it wouldn't have mattered Perth is being blown away this morning, power is dead and TV is dead! HAHA !
Especially considering his start to the year has been nothing short of great. but AH, as I have learned from many years of watching footy and listening to the radio, rarely to people of any intelligence call up talk back. You get the odd one, but mostly are complete imbeciles. Apologies for anyone on here who has, but its just something I have found. Especially SEN.
