Why "can't" Jordan have that sort of game after the week he's had?
Did you seriously question the blokes ability to lead?
**** me.
This board and many of its posters are a disgrace.

Once again, I'm talking about the game in isolation.. Nothing more, nothing less. I understand how difficult the week has been, it's been so hard on so many levels but why can't we seperate what's happened and just discuss the game. Isn't that what Clarko said? Everyone needs to move forward? It's not being disrespectful by doing that. And if you read my post I made note about how hard the week has been.

One big positive for me was Jack Gunston tonight.

Was the best player on the ground for a good portion of tonight - he looks to be making the mythical step up from really good player to superstar.

Disappointed we lost but with the circumstances I'm not surprised. Some posters probably need to take a bigger picture look. Hawthorn is missing a hell of a lot of quality and dealing with the transition of some older players to lesser roles. And after the era this club has given us it's pretty pissweak to start sinking the boot in after a hard fought loss.
Gunner had 18 possessions and kicked 4,buddy had 16 and kicked 3 but all I've heard is how good buddy was

Even players that used to be solid have shed muscle load - partly to reduce stress on their legs as they age, and partly because the new interchange rewards aerobic skills over strength.
That's great, so we can continue to chase them after they've waltzed through our attempt at a tackle deep into the final quarter! :thumbsu:

I think Clarko, Andrew Russell and co has made a blunder here
We can't tackle:mad:

Gunston is a freak.

He really is becoming a modern day JD.

Just so smart and knows the rhythm of the game and how to change its outcome for us. And he's doing it with two babies as his support. What a gun!

Frawley was epic too. Not his fault Buddy kicked a couple of bombs late, Frawley destroyed him.

The boys had a red hot dip and can't fault them for that.

I think they definitely scored quite few goals from our sloppiness which is pretty easy to tighten up.

Its not often we shoot for goal like that either.

Schoey needs to come in. He can at least crssh packs. Tonight showed that sis and tob arent there yet and playing both doesnt work again good teams.

Especially when we have two rucks who cant play forward like Hale did.

I have said it all season our forward entries are horrible no structure. Just looks random and the players have no idea where or who they are meant to kick it to.
Shoey couldn't crash his own car but don't sell out big boy, your last quote is good.

That's not a problem, we won clearances teams can tag Mitchell all the like, on stats it looks nice but it doesn't work. We lost tonight with horrible inside 50 entry.
Mitchell has won games for us this year that we would have lost if he was effectively tagged. Which other midfielder is winning games for us? But in your defense he wasn't tagged in the last two GF's despite dominating so there must be a reason.

Quoting because it won't let me like twice

By the way Sydney have the best defence I've seen since Geelong at their peak ...

The funny thing is everyone keeps calling them out as having a poor defence that is too old.

Maybe I have no clue but wtf? It's their defence that is keeping them in it this year.

Their defense was shit against ninthmond

Wish some of you could consider the human side to what happened this week and what is ahead at our footy club.
Yes, they are professional athletes and paid extremely well for what they do.
Yes, they should've won tonight bar some poor execution.
But FFS, didn't this week teach some of you that there is more to life than slating blokes on a forum that are doing it tough atm?
And it's more pathetic to do it when tonight was the beyond blue game too.
They turned up like professionals, did the best they could and who really gives a shit about the result of a football match.
Grow up and think about someone else for 10 seconds and the emotions and feelings they are going through!
Some of you don't turn up to work with a sniffle, these blokes turned up under terrible circumstances and deserve your praise and support!
Don't say you support this club, Rough and his Hawthorn family then kick them when they are down. That's bullshit!

Brilliant :thumbsu:

I thought he had a great game all things considered. Until Gunston took over I thought he was our best until about 10 mins in to the 3rd. His team mates and the umpires didn't do him any favours.
Think the high ball comment wasn't against Punky but his team mates taking the wrong option

I don't like singling out a player but Brad Hill turned the ball over almost every single kick.

Seriously I reckon he cost us 3-4 goals at least.

One of the more woeful performances I've seen. If he is going to WA can he at least switch on for the remainder of the year for us. Just terrible kicking, zero tackling and just grrrrrrrr...
Langford no better but he is at least hard at it

Howe and Lovell have to play next week. Hill is offering nothing at the moment, except for an excuse to drop him to Box Hill.
This was kind of my point ... I couldn't fathom Howe being dropped for Hill on current form other than Clarko's amazing loyalty to his players. For our future and team balance Howe had to play.
Hartung was awesome by the way.
