John Longmire's presser - "They had really good players and we didn't have so many good players."

Thanks John. Enlightening.
The best part is that their best performing players were originally our players.

He is a terrible coach. Makes Mark Neeld look like Norm Smith.

I wouldn't go that far!

Just find it amusing that we're constantly labelled arrogant etc with a coach and media dealings in general that always compliment and acknowledge the opposition, while blokes like Longmire are almost 100% insular.

Maybe you didn't play well for a reason John? Maybe it was because you came up against quality opposition who didn't allow you to? Don't know, just a thought....

THANK YOU, for beating that COLA cheating scum.
Our absolute pleasure and your most welcome! :D:D
That was a little bit of a victory for all us non-COLAS really! :D

Re: the score review, I thought the same as you at the ground, but coming home and watching on the replay it turns out the goal umpire's call was a goal, so with the inconclusive vision the decision to award the goal was fair enough. It was just the idiot announcer at the 'G who advised the crowd that the goal umpire's original call was touched, meaning we all got riled up when it looked like a BS overturning of the umpire's decision.

Sorry friend but Gibson disagrees with you on this:.... point!...Clearly cost us top of the ladder position:mad:
Just as I said earlier worse decision I've ever seen were the field umpire overrules the goal umpire after clearly saying it was touched..

Couple of things worth mentioning:

1 - How good were Smith's set shots. Reminded me of that bomb in the 4th quarter of the GF, he has toned down his celebrations though.

2 - Tonight just highlighted how hawks made the correct decision in getting rid of Kennedy. They guy is a hack, literally, get ball shin ball. He ended the game with 25 disposals which looks ok on paper but he had no effect of the contest. He only had about 15 at the point Hawks had established the match winning 20+ point lead. I prefer Hawks players that work hard like Woodward whom worked on his game at BH for most of the season continually striving to EARN his spot in the senior team. Hawks say to Kennedy you are behind Mitchell, Hodge, Sewell at the moment you will need to work hard to overtake them. $wans say we will give you guaranteed game time and some of our $$$$$$$'s. See the difference.

It's 3am

But I had to post - Isaac Smith was monumental for us today

As was Gibson playing after a nine week absence.

Just a great win for a club that is always underestimated despite our record

Go you Mighty Fighting Hawkers!!!

Despite being a great contest and a geniune top of the table tussle this game was always going to be remembered as a past favourite son coming up against his old team.......

Yes that's right Jonathan Simpkin was the major talking point as all eyes were on him at the MCG. The $wans supporters showed him the ultimate disrespect by completely ignoring him when he went near the ball. In fact $wans supporters acted as if they didn't even remember that he once played for them.

But it was only 2 short years ago that Simpkin made waves when he left the $wans for Hawthorn only days after the 2012 Grand Final...... via Geelong. Rumours were spreading that the big name player wanted out of the Harbour City when he was denied COLA payments. 'We only pay that to players we poach' said the $wans hierarchy.

In the end Simpkin signed a 2 year deal with the Hawks for $25,000 + AA incentives, Sanity vouchers and a packet of Burger Rings. The $wans were keen to match this offer for the free agent but had already committed their enlarged salary cap to 2 players for the next 5 years. The $wans administration lobbied the AFL commission for special rules to enable them to keep all and every player they wanted. Crisis meetings were called by the AFL to quickly resolve the issue before the draft but the resolution came too late because Vlad Demetriou was on an overseas holiday.

No doubt the $wans will remember Simpkin as the one that got away.

Swans are pretty reliant on Buddy and Tippett very much like us in 10-11, but with rough. We are a much better balanced team.

Also Suckers is huge for us. People say he is a burden against the rolling maulers because there's more contests but i think we need his kicking even more against the to break the game open.

When we have our inside mids and defenders out he gets exposed but when we are at full strength he is a weapon.

It proves that the media have no idea who are THE best team this year.. Malthouse stated the Tainted Swans were unbeatable, the best team, and them someone else said the same thing. Clarko must be so proud of his boys..like we are! Xxxxxxxxxxxxx Thank God my heart has started to slow down now..What a WIN......wow...wow, wow...:D:p:D:D So happy...and proud, Were a happy team at Hawthorn...la,la,la,la....
Robert Murphy too on 360 was banging on about how he's never seen a side like Sydney during his career. WTF is he talking about! Seriously.
Also do people really think a Tippet & Franklin forward line is/was more potent than Franklin & Roughead. Tippett can play, but i'd take Roughead any day - as i'm sure 95% of others would too

At the game last night , finals like pressure and atmosphere, very proud of our great club, B2B is there for the taking if we can get Cyril / Lake / Sewell back in and firing, should be a very interesting week in the media , not sure what spin the Sydney/ Geelong/ Essendon bias media will put on this ? " The loss they had to have?"Go Hawks
