Re: Pick 12 in the Draft?

For mine i can't see Judd going to Carlton who have a losing culture, they have even taught their #1 Draft picks how to lose games for crying out loud.

Even with Pratts billions i can't see him going there.

I'd love to see Judd at the Hawks, we have a winning culture, we have a great list and are going forward, surely someone like Judd would want to go to a club that will further his brilliance and will immortalise him to absolute greatness.

I guess time will tell, Woosha said he'll sit down with Judd next week, then he said in the next breath that Judd is having surgery next week, so i reckon Woosha will get to sign when he is still under anaesthetics.

Re: Pick 12 in the Draft?

My preferences would be 1. Alex Rance 2. Tayte Pears 3. Cyril Rioli 4. David Myers. Hopefully we can get one of those players

If you think Renouf and Bailey will be the answers in 2008 think again. Renouf has a long way to go with his physical development before he will ruck. Quite evident at training sessions this year that he is still easily pushed aside. Bailey will need to get a number games under his belt after his injury.

I've played on Cyril and he is a star. Love it if he came to the hawks; provide a bit of magic at ground level and would complement buddy perfectly. Don't know of other players in the draft who could do the same, or for that matter at other clubs... maybe Davey?

The one small forward we have is Willo, and he is a lead up player anyway. If Clarko could pull off something like Port have with Rodan, get us a really clever player around forward packs with great forward pressure, then our attack would be seriously potent... even more so than now.

Re: Pick 12 in the Draft?

1. Williams for Macguire

2. Pick 12 and Taylor for Macguire

3.Williams, Dowler + pick 12 for Judd(unlikely)

4.Lewis to Carlton for pick 3.
Pick 3 and Williams for Judd.

Have been saying all year we need a quick crumbing creative forward. Don't know if the draft can do this but Kangaroos have a stack of them and we should look at them.

AND just to repeat Williams is not that forward.

Why is Macguire's name being continuely thrown around? Has he told the saints he wants to leave or what? If he wants to come then great cause he is a seriously good CHB on his day as good as any! and i dunno bout Dowler i just rekon he's gunna make it! give him AT LEAST 2 more years fellaz, he's gunna take longer then roughie and roughies only just started getting it together late this year!

Maguire and St.Kilda havent come to an arrangement and is out of contract (Possibly new deals to Riewoldt/Dal Santo means he could earn more elsewhere).

We have contacted his manager along with Richmond and Carlton. I reckon he would be great, id give up pick 12 for him or (Williams if rumours are correct, if he can be 100% fit again no way).

Pick 12 for Macguire and we're done during trading week.

How old is MacGuire?

I am not sure he is any good. I need convincing?

I think he is over-rated, which is why the Saints want to offload him. Why don't we try and grab Rivers for our Pick 12 to help the Demons get Judd. Or another good one is Bartram... Maybe even Frawley???

He's just turned 23.
Very good (almost AA last year at CHB) b4 he broke the leg.
Saints wll want more than pick 12 for him!

I like Jamie Graham from Wcoast.
Played a bit last year but was overlooked this year.
He's 196cm, 95kg and plays KKP at both ends as well as pinch hitting in the ruck!!!

Nah Macguire is the man if he's available for trade, quality CHB, would let croady play more as a floating backmen come forward! maybe trade Boyle and pick 12 for Macguire and sonething?

Make McGuire a priority I say. Is young and a very handy player. WOuld fit in perfectly I think! Pick 12 would not quite suffice though, would need to throw in another pick or a player. I would give up our 1st and 2nd round pick for a proven CHB in all honesty.

100% agree. However looking through the Saints board they seem to think Richmond have offered him a 5 year multi million dollar deal. Carlton are not far behind with their offer.

I only can take a bit of solace from the fact that the salary cap is only 7 million and not 42 million as I would believe if Carlton was playing all these players what their supporters tell us.

Love to see the Goose in the Brown & Gold - maybe the Hawks are running a bit of interference with Judd to see this one go under the radar? In any case, if we trade no one I will be as happy as a pig in sh*t.
