Whoever it is hopefully they freshen it up a bit seeing as this really is a new era with what transpired during trade period . I reiterate I would love to see us adopt the predominantly brown strip from a few years ago as our home strip .

I didn't say that everyone was freaking out - I was just amused at the ones who were resorting to the histrionics. One of those posters only the other day then pointed out 'well NB used to be a nothing brand and now it's not' which has exactly been my point all along that sometimes brands pivot and if Skechers was trying to get involved in this market it mightn't be the worst thing on the planet. The premiers are sponsored by Cotton On - I hardly think Skechers, who sponsor one of the LA Dodgers marquee players with the Dodgers being one of the most valuable sporting franchises in the world is going to damage to our brand comparatively.

One top line Dodgers player sponsored by Skechers amounts to zilch against almost every major franchise team and triple-A player in the world rocking Nike, Adidas, et al. Skechers is the brand your aunt Judy does seniors Zumba in.

I get that some people don’t give a rat’s for this stuff, but some of us wanna see brand alignment that befits our club stature, and maximises commercial and merch opportunities.

Then again I guess it’s hard to change much when it’s brown and gold stripes some cool away, clash and maybe other guernseys would be nice though

Although even with everything going on at club it’s hard to not feel do we really want to but surely we get a 3 peat 10 year anniversary guernsey and range…

On the “ new jumpers for 2023 “ BF forum one of those guys did a mock up of an all brown back with gold number and the normal stripes on the front it looked pretty good I thought anyway. Be something completely new though .

Adidas are removing themselves from the AFL, Nike's investment would be minimal.

We have Dawson's Moving and Storage as a club sponsor. Skechers are a high growth multi-national business worth billions. Which befits our club stature more?

What kind of deals would Dawson offer members in moving house? So torn with the decision

Cheap moving rates when Dingley finally gets built!!

"To kick off the partnership, Hawthorn members and fans can quote GOHAWKS to receive a 10% discount on their quote with Dawson."

Cool - maybe read the full context of my messages about this. Brands have to start somewhere - do you expect every other brand to just go 'oh well UA, NB, Nike, Puma and Adidas have the market covered we may as well give up and be happy with the market share we have'. Skechers in the US are clearly trying to grow - hence the Kershaw deal. If they did align with us and it's for this reason I am not particularly worried, despite not loving their footwear either, because I would rather have an international brand who is trying to grow in this space compared to the last few years of the Adidas deal where they phoned it in consistently because they gave zero fax about the Australian sports market.

When Nike came to Magic Johnson as a rookie trying to get him to wear their shoes he got convinced to go with the tried and tested brand in Converse at the time. History shows how that one played out. Brands evolve, the market changes.

I'm hoping it is Skechers trying to grow their brand. And then when they crack other markets they'll stick by us for giving them a start.

People keep saying this, what does this exactly mean? What’s been lacking that the club / supporters aren’t happy about?

It was just paint by numbers season after season. You might think it’s great to pay just under $100 for a polyester shirt in some fun neon colour and some Adidas stripes on the sleeve but personally I was never really impressed. The guernseys began good and often had some form of new idea each year but the last couple was the same old thing with the only real addition the addition of the oddly placed and not needed logo. Plus the most popular non-home guernsey they ever made, the brown away one, just went away despite the popularity of it (saw plenty of them around at games),

Plus, the one thing I always wanted out of the deal was a great Adidas Originals tracksuit in Hawthorn colours and it never happened. Personally I felt Adidas were underwhelming ever since they announced they were pissing off out of Aussie sport and clearly didn’t give a shit in the final few years. I say this as someone who has a fair bit of Adidas gear, I was never really overly motivated to buy any of the stuff they made for the club outside guernseys.

Looks like the font on the inside says it’s a 40th anniversary of the 1983 flag. However it’s not the same guernsey design as 1983 - odd.

Would really prefer the logo gone and the Skechers logo to be in gold not white. The sponsor logo being brown as I think it looks now instead of black as pictured would be nice though.

The sponsors logo needs to be black as that is their design.

That would be like asking KFC if we can change their logo colours to blue & green or iinet to get rid of the red ‘i’ & white ‘net’

Offical announcement Wednesday maybe?the deal with adidas expired today, adidas has already been removed from the hawks nest and sponsors pages, and means it’s not done on cup day?
