And did he not want to punch on with the the other guys if she told him her story???

Can we at least spell "assault" correctly in the thread title?
No don't get me wrong I'm dead set against fights and punch ups and far from an angry person..Plenty of people in the world don't autmomatically jump to 'I'm gonna bash you/them/inanimate object' when bad things happen. I'm an insanely angry person - but the posts I've seen on here where violence is apparently the first reaction you'd go to is baffling and scary. No wonder so many young blokes are dying because of punches that have gone wrong.
You guys (mods) have done an amazing job, I mean the names are out there, but BF threads have managed to maintain more integrity than some newspapers.... I send my support to all involved, extremely delicate situation, especially with the players potentially to be treated as guilty until conclusively proven innocent.Triple like. Impossible job
That's what boyfriends do.
.
Don't you mean Percy Sledge?Meatloaf begs to differ
Yes, even though we have an implied freedom of speech in Australia, and for that matter an implied freedom of expression, this doesn't mean people can say whatever they want. There are still laws to protect others from what we say in certain circumstances.
By posting, we are addressing "the world at large" and hence open ourselves up to things such as defamation, contempt of court etc.
These are easy to avoid with just a little knowledge and common sense. Naming players in this instance is showing very little common sense if wanting to stay within the boundaries- particularly if the information is wrong.
I'm hating not knowing who's involved but I know it's none of my business.. But for those who do know, worst case scenario, does it hurt us bad next year?
To be honest the two I'm aware of I couldn't give a toss about... If they go they go I just want some normality back.. Let's rebuild some respect for us again by coming out next year and winning against the odds... That's what this club does best.. Backs to the wall stuff.. Whoever goes if they do can take their s$&t elsewhere.I'm hating not knowing who's involved but I know it's none of my business.. BUT... If his GF was what she claimed happened wouldn't he just feel some kind of anger towards the guys

That's not correct buddy. We have what's called an 'implied freedom of political communication'. That is, because we are a representative democracy we have an implied right to discuss political issues and candidates to make an informed choice. We have no freedom of speech or expression in our constitution. As for the constitutions of states and territories and their associated bills of rights, they are just statute and can be changed and dont trump the federal laws. So much testosterone and bravado running rampant around here. None of us really know how we'll react in a high stress situation until we're actually in it, and just to bring things back down to Earth a bit: We don't know what happened yet. So please, stop pretending you'd be some boyfriend superhero with shady mates who would fix possible scenario A.100%... As bad as it sounds I would have been on the phone to some 'knock about' characters I'm close with and the footballers would intimately know they've stuffed up. Sometimes in life the moral high ground doesn't work, the world isn't all rainbows and fairy dust! Sad but true.
Correct - never said it was in the constitution hence "implied". The terminology "political expression" is new to me, so appreciate the correction. One thing irrefutable- it is limited hence the reference to defamation. That's not correct buddy. We have what's called an 'implied freedom of political communication'. I know exactly how I'd react if my fiancée was r*ped, call it testosterone/bravado or whatever you want l couldn't give a toss. Dont try and guess how I or anyone else would react, it's a highly inflammable situation and no way is the right way.
Agreed, but I'd hope that I would support the girl as much as I could rather than going off on some absurd revenge plot just to satisfy my own ego.
