I genuinely believed his comment was in relation to Hood describing North as collateral damage. The initial story continues to stand up, I personally cannot see any defamation actions resulting and unfortunately lots of people jumped the gun in terms of voluntary stand downs that now looks a bit premature given things don’t appear to be going anywhere

Only hope for the public to learn more is for the victims to dig in their heels and not agree to a NDA.

I have a little bit of personal experience in the area including being a former client of one of the lawyers involved. I agree with your sentiments, but this has NDA written all over it.

Totally agree that his conduct on twitter has called into question his judgement.

When you say he's "way out of his depth on a story of this complexity" and "he's not cut out for it" I think its possible you're being a bit harsh.

Every great investigative reporter has to break their first big explosive breaking news story somehow.

Whether or not it ends up in disaster is often down to the quality of their editorial oversight and mentorship.

(Nick McKenzie didn't just finish j-school and immediately start reporting on SAS war crimes, for instance)
