Hawthorn commissioned an external review panel because they found out s**t was going on and said we have to get to the bottom of this.

The AFL disintegrity unit will now try and control the story and cover up what they can.
Looks like the AFL know they can't cover this up with the usual disintegrity unit and their usual ex coppers who are good at verballing people.

McLachlan said an external panel of four independent, appropriately qualified people would conduct the investigation for the AFL.

"They will be appropriately skills-based and have the right mix of diversity and an approach that prioritises cultural safety for all those that have shared their experiences," he said.

"We need to run a proper investigation to get to the bottom of it and this is important out of respect for those making the allegations and out of respect for those being accused."

In some ways it’s fitting that Gill’s tenure will end with another racism scandal. He never lifted a finger to deal with Goodes, Eddie (many times) or the numerous other instances over the last decade. It’s what I will remember him for.
Hardly surprising. He's the poser boy for white privilege.

Not to mention former ceos / board members and footy dept people involved with Hawthorn who may have known what was alleged to have happened. Isn't the Crows boss from Hawthorn? Not implying he knew but it's gonna potentially take down alot of people around the league.
The big three are Clarko, Fagan and Jason Burt; Hawthorn's player development manager under Alastair Clarkson.
The partner of one player alleges Burt told her that the club felt it was better for the player's career if the couple broke up.

One player told team mates he was about to become a father.

Far from sharing his joy, he alleges that a group of coaches, including Alastair Clarkson and Chris Fagan, ushered him into an office, where he was urged to have the pregnancy terminated, "get rid" of his partner and move into the home of an assistant coach.

"Alastair was due to commence work with North Melbourne on November 1 however he will delay the start of his tenure to allow time to fully participate in the investigation."

Been doing a lot of work for North Melbourne on his own (Hawthorn's still, actually) time these last few weeks though, hey?

"A group of coaches".

That could include some big names.

I can’t recall offhand the finer details of Clarkson's departure from Hawthorn, except that it was earlier than first planned. I wonder if there were already whispers about this that hastened his exit.

The people at Hawthorn who did not know about this are abundant.
This was highly focussed and directed at potentially "problem children".
And as errant children they were treated
It seems almost clandestine in its operation.
How else could Shaun B not known of it?
My next question is, "Were there only black "problem children""?
So, not racism, but generally appalling treatment of people by supposed people motivating specialists.

ABC's investigative journo Russell Jackson has dug deep and covered some big stories in footy and other sports.

People have come to trust him, talk to him and he has dug up some dark secrets the last few years.

His story The Persecution of Robert Muir won the Walkley Award for longform feature writing, the Grant Hattam Award for excellence in sports journalism, the Quill Award for best sport feature, and the Melbourne Press Club's Gold Quill Award.

This from the man who watched Adam Goodes get driven out the game, watched McGuire compare Goodes to King Kong and did nothing about it, let the Cows camp slide by until Eddie Betts wrote a book, the racism at Collingwood whilst McGuire was president, McLachlan you are an absolute disgrace.

Of course it is racism, the story is not about first year teenage white draftees being bullied !!!!!!!

QUOTE: An external review commissioned by the Hawthorn Football Club will reveal allegations that key figures at the AFL club demanded the separation of young First Nations players from their partners, and pressured one couple to terminate a pregnancy for the sake of the player's career.

How was Adam Goodes 'driven out of the game'? He was almost 36 and had played 372 games over 17 seasons before he made the right decision to retire. Best footballer I have ever seen I might add but his time had come.

It’s disgusting that North Melbourne, Brisbane and the AFL are referring to these as “historical allegations”. These are allegations that have come to light now. The reason they didn’t come to light earlier is so obvious from the vulnerability of the victims. Thankfully Hawthorn haven’t described them as such.

Any attempt to belittle the allegations or to sideline them ought to be avoided. Referring to them as “historical” carries the imputation of unreliability and is an attempt to distance those using the adjective from the allegations. Now is not the time for arse covering.

Brisbane and North will lose their coaches if these allegations are proven. We lost players for “historical” offences at Essendon and got no compensation. There is no point in these clubs trying to lessen the impact on them. They will have to cop what they get.

JHF should walk now saying he is not prepared to play under Clarkson until these allegations are resolved.

The first football game he has been to since retiring was this year. He has had no association since retiring, due to the aforementioned booing.

He didn't stop playing because of his body.

Maybe ask Adam Goodes
The AFL's failure to support Indigenous great Adam Goodes during the 2015 booing of the Sydney Swans champion was a “stain” for the sport, the league's chairman Richard Goyder has said.25 Aug 2021

The AFL admits it let down the Sydney Swans star over racist abuse and promises to learn from its mistakes.

So..uhh… I guess it’s a good thing we didn’t get Clarkson to coach.

Still, not surprised by these events. Unfortunately, this shit is still common in workplaces 😞

Any unsolved crime/allegation that isn't a robbery, and didn't happen in the last few months, now gets called “historical allegations” unfortunately.
