Well done Beau Dowler. Massive turning point for him.

Good to get a win, missing 4 or 5 of our starting back 6, so was a massive effort to get up against a side who is up and about at the moment. Really good effort.

We have a lot of upside left for this season, we just need to scrape out a few more wins as we get some players back then make our move later in the year.

We're now 3/3 after 6, sitting 7th with 3 of the teams higher and 3 lower on the ladder. 596 for and 596 against at an even 100%.

Roughead obviously our best with a mighty effort from Sewell. Tackled hard and pumped it into the 50 often today. Mitchell just got better and Dowler really proved his worth also. By far his best game.

Yeah great win today. Thought Dowler was good again. Was maybe expecting a bit more from Tucky, but still very happy.

Maybe a little late coming, but a bloody great game. The better side for the most part won, but geez we could of come away with something special. Congrats, Roughie, what a ****ing star.

A really vital win for us in regards to 2009..

next 3 matches we have Bombers, Freo andMelbourne, A massive opportunity to get back in to the top four, something that didnt look possible 2 weeks back.

Mate if we get to 6-3 there'll be no stopping us. Right now our effort is there but skills are still off and the younger players don't really know how to work all that well together at the moment. Also, with Mitchell and a couple of other guys forced to play different roles we're lacking a bit of cohesion.

Once we get Birchall, Gilham, Young and X back we'll be a top4 side again

When Fev took that mark I threw the newspaper at the wall and used words that I can't repeat. Then He choked! Awesome:D 1 short against us again! The only downfall is I'm in the doghouse with the Mrs after my attitude today:eek: Most frustrating game ever!
Ha same mate BUT what a fantastic game only 2 players under 10 possessions a great even spread of contributors & AT LAST Dowler Showed something great game By Dowler & Roughie what a bloody star!:thumbsu:

I thought the umps didn't actually crucify us for once today. Infact I thought they must have swallowed their whistles for the greater part of the game. Yes we had some frees missed, so did Carlton etc. But overall they let them play footy which IMO is a good thing.

Thought the umps tried to give the game a finals feel - they let the play go a lot, but made errors... think we felt them as much as you.

in the last quarter they did. For 3 quarters Hawthorn couldnt so much as go near the ball without having a free paid against them.

Just a few off the top of my head. Rioli caught with the ball instantly, no chance to dispose, tries vigerously... holding the ball.

Judd, all the time in the world a second later, ball up.

Free to betts for in the back. Dowler was at full stretch, and the rule in that case is about ump interpretation, there is no way anyone could interpret that as legitimately trying to push him in the back.

Free not paid to williams (even though we kicked the goal). Williams being held over the shoulder, a second player runs in not looking at the ball and takes him out.

Free not paid to whitecross. think it was Cloke who hit him stright in the face, right infront of the ump. Was on Carltons half forward flank, and Carlton got a goal.

Renouf barley being held gets a hand ball and its holding it, abotu 50 times blues players made no effort and it was a ball up of play on.

thats just on the top of my head.

they put it away in the last quarter, and we got a run on, why, because we werent being screwed by them!

i thought we got the better run, but some picky examples. Judd got one called against that was BS then one of our players took about 5 steps...no call. The last quarter they missed a heap.

I did notice a couple of the 'not looking at the ball' marking contest ones though.

One of Judd's first possessions for the day was one of those "tackled, spun 360 degrees, take a couple of seconds, then handball" and of course there's nothing wrong with that.

thank you fevola for missing
*uck you fev, what goes around comes around!
