Missus' told me about her friend who was in a party of women on a boat in Docklands a few months ago. Carey jumped on their boat and started "picking" women he'd take back onto his boat, whilst publically shaming the non stunner ones. Was a drunk AF and was in fine piggery mode. Think he had a few young birds on his arm too...great bloke
Hmmm and this is where some let themselves down, track record says that a letdown is to follow.

Wasn't expecting that performance to be honest. Was very happy with the 4 quarter effort and winning is just a bonus, let alone the margin.

The kids stood up too.

The negative thing, which I see positives in, is that almost every single Eagles goal was an easy one within 15 metres. We didn't allow them to take marks inside 50. They just managed to get over the top of our defense and run through, but with a forward line of Kennedy and Darling, we didn't allow too many marks within goal scoring range.

We put the Shepard on the man on the mark when coming off half back allowing the extra 15m from the kick down the line.
Had noticed it had all but gone out of our game over the first four weeks, may be nothing but doing the little things for each other was on show today.

So many positives from today....

Tom Mitchell, what a little machine this kid is. He's going to need a chop out, but **** me, this kid just puts his nose over the ball and digs in time and time again.

Hardwick, Hartung, Burton, Howe, O'Brien, Brand.....all had a crack, and all made us a much more attacking side.

Hartung played a seriously good game, although he made a few errors which I'm sure people will highlight, but blody hell he gave us so much run and spread today and was a major reason we moved the ball over the ground so well.

How good is it to see a competitive and dangerous forward half? Gunston, Sicily, Rioli, Breust, Roughead......everyone looked like different players to last week.

Confidence! We slowly built on it throughout the game, and as a result our skills lifted to something we've not seen so far this year. Sure we still tried to bite off a bit more than we could chew, but our willingness to take the kick and then hit it was great.

The best part is, our blokes looked like they were enjoying footy once more.

Well said and your last comment especially is spot on. Seeing how happy Burgoyne celebrated with the players after he kicked his goal showed how much they enjoyed this win.

Was a bit disappointed the crowd was under 30 thousand.. like to think people wouldn't jump off us this early
It's Sunday twilight. The AFL can jam it right up there arse. Just doesn't suit my families routine with young kids, dinner and just plain rest. Even listening to it on radio at that time is a distruption to our routine........or perhaps it's just me.

issac smith was finally over that cork he copped in round 2 he was back to his best, and billy as well back to the old game plan use the wings and speed we looked back to normal ... Henderson should not play again on the wing has no run and blocks space and Vickery needs to learn the hawthorn way happy with what we did :)

I'm always hard on McEvoy but his last 2 weeks have been super. Today in particular he was huge. He has a fair bit of heart the big fella.

Hodge...what a champ

Out young kids all contributed with special mentions to Burton, Hardwick and Brand.

TOB was excellent and showed what he is capable of. IMO he has to keep playing ahead of Schoey and Vickery. Let's see what another 15 games does for his development.

Cyril. I love you.

I didn't say he wasn't. I was commenting on how good we were across the board that he and TMitch aren't necessarily in the best few for mine.

I think Cyril actually struggled a fair bit early though. Not doing much clean. Improved out of sight as the game went on though.

And a credit to him that he persevered as the umpires went out of their way to crucify him most of the day.
Disagree. he was scintillating from the absolute get go. The harassing, the tap ons and basically creating something from nothing from very ordinary delivery from teammates. The highlights roll came later on. McEvoy will get the 3 votes, but Rioli was def best on ground for mine.

It's a fair call. I'm not agreeing but I get it.

That's the whole problem. There's always some bimbo that goes for the ride. What do they see him??

Often thought this JH, living in Nth Qld going to games obviously isn't an option for me. But I don't think I've ever seen a decent crowd for this time slot regardless of who is playing. It just seems a really inconvenient time.

Got to the right places often. Won clearances.

Needs to adjust to the pace of the AFL but he is too good for the VFL so he needs to have a block of games to see if he can take the next step.

9 tackles too. Probably the most he's ever played in the midfield in Seniors. Definitely room for improvement but signs were good I thought

Do you know that we have around 17 000 junior members?

The 4.40 timeslot is absolute poison for parents. Give us a 'normal' timeslot and I'll guarantee that there would be plenty more members/supporters attending.

Much needed win today! Whew. Only listened to game today. If we looked as good as we sounded on the radio, perhaps bottom 4 is not a done deal!
Roughead-Bruest-Gunston kicked 9 goals. TOB & Sicily added 5 more. What type of strategy did we employ that allows forwards to score? I vote we try that strategy again!
Plough was providing very ordinary special comments today. He continues to be a very annoying human being. Not sure
why he's got a media job. If it's a former player they need and he doesn't have to have been a mediocre coach, I think Donald McDonald may be available. (His coaching record was better than Plough's.) I say a prayer of thanks every week of the season that our brain trust didn't just capitulate to the will of the unwashed & hired the popular option (Plough) after 2004. We'd have seen a lot more football like the rubbish of the past two weeks and Hawks would probably still be seeking an "elusive" next premiership. We are closer to #14 with AC than we would be to #10 with Plough.

Terry Wallace is one of the most interesting and knowledgeable guys on radio. Doesn't get everything right, but who does?

An absolute Hawthorn champion, also.

Every has their opinion, so carry on.
