AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Some of us (older) (more pessimistic) supporters believe we have a responsibility to at least warn many supporters about the folly of assuming a win this week v Hawks. Not to be devastated if by some freak of footy nature Hawthorn actually win a game. Against us. Some supporters are already celebrating. We feel for them, and BF could be R rated in 8 days time. Just be wary. Hannibal Lector= Hawthorn.Don't think the Cats have EVER taken the Hawks lightly, can't see it changing this year either.
This should be another nail in the coffin.

Of course, we are definitely the more talented and in form team, but ask Luke Bevos fans how they are feeling about being bashed up by a basket case this week.
We have taken teams out of form, devoid of confidence and ripe for the picking lightly for the last few years, Hawks are in this zone now. I want us to show no mercyDon't think the Cats have EVER taken the Hawks lightly, can't see it changing this year either.

Breust and Rioli are horribly out of form and Puopolo is injured.Unbelievable.
You would think after recent events people would start to assume there is no certainties in life but the blatant arrogance by our supporters is something to behold.
I for one believe this game will not be a walk in the park. If anything, I feel as though it will be just like the Melbourne game. Very tough to predict a winner one way or the other.
Hawthorn will throw everything at us just as they did in last years final.
I have no faith in Mackie, Ruggles, Thurlow keeping their small forwards in check.
I don't even trust Guthrie after looking out of form this weekend.
It's those small forwards which always cut us to shreds.
This is similar in one way to the preliminary final v Sydney last year we know the Hawks will come out and throw every thing they have at Geelong from the first bounce,we need to weather that initial onslaught,no over using the ball early get it inside our forward 50 and play the game down there until the heat goes out of the game then take them apart. Some of us (older) (more pessimistic) supporters believe we have a responsibility to at least warn many supporters about the folly of assuming a win this week v Hawks. The Hawks have lost their last 6 games.
I'm assuming Horlin-Smith is back.Id think we have at least 6 players that could almost match their form atm. Do we expect to GHS back?

You think they'll persevere with the Project this week? I thought he looked as if he belonged out there.I'm assuming Horlin-Smith is back.
Who'll make way is the big question. Menegola's decision making doesn't impress me much so he's the likely candidate.

"I want to see us get physical. Since Vickery appears to be useless at football I'd like him to give Selwood the ol' Guerra eardrum treatment. I've also wanted to see Andrew Mackie carted off on a stretcher for a very, very long time. "
Hawks muppets in fine form in their game thread
Thurlow's kicking at the G v Hawks could be handy; Stewart?Once in give him more than 1 week surely. Once he settles and feel a little less newbie he can then show a bit of his offensive talents. The obvious one out would be Murdoch who looked way out of touch but I think we need to be a bit careful with him, seems to have fragile confidence. Thurlow?
I think so. He looked as though he belonged out there and wasn't overawed. You think they'll persevere with the Project this week? I thought he looked as if he belonged out there.
Well I obviously can't speak for others, but am not basing it on today's thumping.Thought they were on the way out last year-won a few games on experience not ability, were on their last legs in the finals-still did ok. Think they made a couple of panicky decisions in off season-unhawthorn like. Have looked ordinary so far this year. Understand we have too but still think we have more going for us than they do. Maybe wrong but still not sure arrogance is the correct term.It is arrogance to assume we are blowing them away on the basis they got thumped today.
Hawthorn v Geelong JLT game was played on February 17. He played his first game on April 8.
Do you not believe there is four weeks in a month or something?
Listen through the AFL app... the radio networks don't have the rights to broadcast digitally or whatever it is called,Can someone please tell me why the SEN site and app is so shit that you can't listen live until the games are over? I'm bloody sick of it. I don't have a radio anymore, so I like to listen on my tablet, but this crap is so frustrating
Almost bizarre how we supporters are preparing ourselves for the full-on physical and mental onslaught this game provides. They do love to lash out and violence always seems the first answer with that lot. Would hate to be a girlfriend/wife/boyfriend/pet of a Hawks supporter tonight!
I won't be taking this game lightly at all. No matter the form-line these games are regularly close, even when one of the sides is traveling better than the other. We need to be switched on from the start, weather any pressure and effort they bring our way and eventually dissect their mistakes. No lapses that allow them to get their tails up. We need to get ahead and keep them at arm's length or, like us in the last two weeks, they'll have every confidence they can get us in the dying minutes.
At least our last quarter form this year has me confident if we go in close at 3qtr time but that should not be the objective and, with Hawthorn's current form, should not be the outcome. It's all on how the boys approach this game, I reckon. Thankfully I think guys like Selwood would like nothing more than to crush Hawthorn so the message should be strong from our leadership.
Perhaps... but if the results were reversed you would absolutely be putting us down and pumping up the Hawks so what does it matterIt is arrogance to assume we are blowing them away on the basis they got thumped today.
