Neither was yours in fairness.
We obviously disagree with Harry forward (make no mistake I'm not saying he's doing well, I'm just saying structurally he's worth persisting with for now) so I'd like to see some arguments with evidence to suggest we are worse off having Harry forward.
Keep it to PMs if you like to keep it balanced and calm but it's certainly something I want to discuss.
No it's not "in fairness". Disagreeing so just resorting to "you're ignorant" is not the same as spelling out your viewpoint.

Not right now stanley doesnt. The problem with stanley as a forward is he has little idea which patterns to run to either get the ball or drag defenders away from forwards which is why he gets bypassed a lot when he plays forward. He then looks better in the ruck because you dont have to learn where to run the players drag you to the stoppages and you just use your clearance ability (which he is good at). Taylor at least has the footy IQ to do this which is why he is playing there and why the forward structure is the reason they are giving for it. If taylor's poor form continues long term they will have to make a change but given scott's comments yesterday about smith/stanley and the rucks i don't think the coaches think we are there yet. Hopefully a good forward coach can teach stanley to learn leading patterns etc as he has much more upside than taylor as a forward if he can fix this.
My view is Harry Taylor is still too valuable for us in defence because of his defensive smarts and organisational skills.

I'd love for us to have a Jack Darling playing at CHF but unfortunately we don't.

Not to that, you said "compelling response", your post wasn't either.
Again, just because you don't agree with me (which is fine) at least you have spelt out why. You didn't just resort to "you're ignorant".

I'm just wanting an opposite view to consider.
I would go through line by line how I think Stanley offers more and the counterpoint will simply be along the lines of Harry creates space and that's why Hawkins and Menzel are kicking goals. It's not a discussion that can head anywhere.

Hopefully next year we pick up Johnson full time (if he's available).
All reports say he's been fantastic.

He's got a busy schedule with media which would pay much more than an assistant coaching job. But it seems that he enjoyed his spell at the Cats. Hopefully we can get him again for pre-season and possibly part time during the season.

Form is irrelevant when we play Hawthorn. This will be our first glimpse of the real Geelong this year, if we beat them in a hard one, which is what I am expecting then we are definitely in the hunt again this year. Lose and I re-adjust my expectations.
I think we will win Q1 by 3-4 goals, go in at half time behind, 3/4 level and then smash them by 6 in the last. A good old fashioned scrub with the scum.
So pumped, this is my first Cats game I'm making it to since moving to Canberra, and my Canadian wife's first live footy game
I spent the 2011 Grand Final with a Canadian wife (not mine) in China watching the game in a pub, she was a great sport and loved the Cats.

Is it true we're not running a full-time ruck coach? Seems like a pretty big oversight, given the uh...skill-level of our ruck stocks.

Yeah, I think Brad Ottens in only part time isn't he? It would be much better if he was full time

I'd stick with Smith/Blicavs combo, and keep Stanley out.

Tbh, I don't think there will be any changes. Murdoch could be out, but he could be a weapon on the bigger ground like the MCG, I'd keep him in. I'd stick with Menegola over GHS or Cowan.
