houli to start training with us

Still doesn't alter the fact that an uncontracted player who comes out an openly states the team he wants to go to, is a risk for another club to pick up, and then him not playing well.

ARTICLE:

Gold Coast has the first pick, but is understood to have no interest, West Coast is highly unlikely at No. 2, leaving the Tigers to snap up Houli at No. 3.
Hopefully one of those coasts will have a change of heart and pick him up. At best I see him putting pressure on White for a fringe spot in the team and I'd prefer White. One of the many front runners at essendon who looked ok when they were running the ball forward and getting away with it but shown up when some real pressure applied. WTF are they thinking?

Congratulations guys- you will draft a player who will be elite within three years. Will get the ball 25 times a game at 90% effeciency and kick a goal or two and be a great outside player.

I am so pissed we are losing him- one of my favourite players and was ruined by Knights. If only we had picked Harwick in 2008.

Hope your right, time will tell.

Cheers W,A.Stake;)

have essendon delisted him yet?? when does he start training with us. Like the look of this guy, big and strong and can use it.
They don't actually delist him. He just comnes out of contract officially today. He can start training with whoever he likes today.

If you Tugga or anyone else is going to a training session could you let the rest of us know if he shows up and how he looks?

Cheers ;)

Great stuff. We get him for zip and that clown Dodoro can keep crying.

Houli will end up the same as Hislop just for different reasons.

He pulls out of contests, panics and sells his team mates into trouble with handballs and is a poor decision maker.

On the plus side he won't give you any attitude problems like Hislop and is usually a very nice kick and a very hard worker.

I said Hislop will be delisted within 4 years, i over estimated him, and Houli will be the same.

By mid next year your supporters will be calling for his head for being soft.

Oh that's why Hird endeavoured to talk him in to staying. Bitter much??

Take your troll post over to the Bay. ;)

No troll and Hird never spoke to Houli or asked him to stay, not once.
Houli's manager, Nigel Carmody, said Houli wanted to know where he and the club sat before the start of the trade period in a week and a half.

Houli was informed via Paul Hamilton he wasn't required.

UNCONTRACTED Essendon midfielder Bachar Houli hopes the appointment of James Hird as senior coach will give him the opportunity to prove his worth as an AFL player.
"I'm looking forward to seeing what [Hird] has got to say and whether he wants me and what he thinks of me as a player. It's very exciting but at the same time, very nerve-wracking," he said.
"My first preference would be to stay at Essendon because it's the type of club where you can build a friendship

Before the trade period he wanted to stay, once told he wasn't required us and him made out that he left, it was done to make it easier for him.

Of course what we say to the media and what happens are different but either way it doesn't matter.

I will bump this thread at the appropriate time.

Wow the player is soft & wont make it ,pulls out of contests & sells his team mates into trouble ........................ Yet you knock back pick 46 & demand 29  Am i missing something here

If he doesn't make it, he doesn't make it ................... We lose nothing

Essendon's bluff was called & they have been trying to persuade him into staying since trade week.

Hird even offered to fast with bachar next ramadan if he stays.

And you know this ..... How ??

'' New coach James Hird had attempted to persuade Houli to stay, but even the prospect of a fresh start with the one of the club's all-time greats wasn't enough to change his mind.''

Wow pretty sharp club this essendon mob !!

You tell a player he is not required, then you refuse to trade him......WHY !!

"Despite Hird's attempts to convince Houli of his future at the club, the 22-year-old wants to leave."

I still call bullshit, and that you're just a troll. Too lazy to check FACTS.

Call me what you like mate, makes no difference to me.

The articles you are quoting appeared AFTER Houli was told he wasn't required.

The ones i quoted where him and his manager said he wanted to stay at Essendon were all before hand. That is the FACT.

But what ever it makes no difference as he will either make the grade or not and who said what when will have no influence on that.

Ok Houli wasnt required by Hird but Quinny is...... oh thats right Quinny was your gun player in the final that you played a couple of years ago against the crows. How quinny is on any type of list is embarrassment to your club and to football. My 20 month daughter has more ability than Quinny. But hang on he was wanted in front of a bloke that can kick a ball more than 5 meters. Hird must have a real eye for talent. I remember when Hird was on the couch he said Neagle wasnt up to AFL. He is still on your list. Obviously Bomber Thomson rates him.
