I seriously question my team and how they didn't feel Chapman would be more than a handy pick up. It's not as though any of us didn't see that he was still capable of what he is producing for Essendon. Not enough done by the other 16 AFL clubs?

because for the past two years his hammy's have been shot and geelong were not willing to sign him on to more then a year Plus they still need to move on the older brigade to blood the kids, Chapman was a casulty, so was Pods who honestly could of played

Plus it's not like 17 other clubs didn't want him

Two years ago he played 21 out of 23 games for 20 touches a game and 36 goals. They weren't shot.

Last year, a different matter of course.

He is a great player and I would have loved for us to pick him up but sides would be worried about if the hammy goes and it is a really bad one then it would pretty much be lights out.

What you are saying has some truth to it, but also some inaccuracy. Geelong offered Chapman a contract for 2014, but told him that his games would be restricted because they want to play the next generation of players. Chapman wasn't happy with that so he decided to try his luck elsewhere. As it turned out with the injuries Geelong have got over the preseason, Chappy probably would have got more games than they originally thought, had he stayed at the Cattery.

PODs was delisted because they knew he was shot, he had a poor year in 2013 at Geelong. They also hoped Vardy could step up as the CHF, but injury ruined that.

Good on Chappy for having some success at Essendon. But those hammy's are suspect, and he's only played three games so far. But it's cool to see him running around out there, us Cat's fans always loved him. We wouldn't have won the 2009 flag without him.

No matter what he does at Essendon, he'll always have this for Geelong.

Don't worry, none of us by any means feel like he's a Bomber for life.
We just appreciate being able to taste his brilliance for a while.
Thank you Geelong <3

Don't thank Geelong. Chappy left of his own accord when he rejected the conditions of his 2014 contract offer. Thank Bomber and Chappy.

Thanks Cats.

Geelong didn't "not want him", nor would you think they were happy to lose him.

Has gained a cult status at Essendon like nothing I've seen. He, Goddard, Watson and Fletch get roars for even going within 5m of the ball.

Understandable.

20 touches and 4 goals in his last game (semi final). Not exactly a 'we'll play the kids ahead of this guy' performance.
