This was on Raf Epstein twitter account, based on our current rate:

Thought this from The Guardian was interesting:

Victorian government’s state-run clinics success in administering AstraZeneca, with the state accounting for 824,000 AstraZeneca doses out of 1.8m nationally – about 45% of the total.
NSW, by contrast, has only administered 320,000 AstraZeneca doses through state clinics, about 17% of the total, and well below its population share of about 32%.

That's first dose - it's the second dose that matters

by the time people get their second dose they will be a huge need for booster shots

Morrison received his second dose mid March.

I mention this not to make political hay out of him, but because as leader he was one of the first to get fully vaxxed in the country.

Under the new Israeli rules, he needs his booster next week.

Reality is we need to get boosters to all our 1a's from now.

They are the most vulnerable, and our frontline workers. As much as I hate to say it, they need to be prioritised over the Vic rollout, even if it extends our lockdown.

That said, we have literally heard zero on this, so my fear is we have no firm plans for boosters yet.

Pretty sure we don't have enough police in the state to stop all the xmas gatherings that will occur, even those off duty will be visiting families you would think.

If state borders are closed the Premiers that closed them will be held to account.

Regardless of the policing situation, the pressure is on to remove restrictions so that people don’t run the gauntlet.

I think I read somewhere that Greg Hunt suggested they weren’t required for another six months.

Pre delta maybe, but countries seem to be moving to a window of 6-8 months now (still early days to be fair)

This is why the USA is holding back on ramping up international donations - they think they will need to redirect to boosters.

If we are talking 12 months, I'm not sure how many agree with us

I've put up wit their spamming sh*t for the past 20 months, so what's the ******* difference?

Mates don't judge people based on there medical history, you're a shit mate if you boast to your friends who've taken a stand regardless whether you agree or not with their point of view on THIS vaccination, how about, be a mate and just talk with them.

PS: Not sure if you noticed, but you are 22nd on the list of top contributor in this thread, you've been spamming shit, just not in a chat with people you called friends.

I have not seen evidence that convinces me of need for boosters unless immune suppressed. I am aware it is the recommendation but I think it is less important than getting everyone covered.

Isn't the Israel situation proof that second dose isn't enough for delta?

They've ordered 100 million doses of Pfizer and Moderna over the next 2 years to cover boosters...

Yet still the ALP shill will say there is no plan.

Find the Labor government shill. :drunk: Almost double the post contribution to second and third.

It's great to see the Queenslander made the top 8 in telling everyone how great Dan is whilst not having to endure 230+ days of lockdown...

The pivotal engine driving a return to normal life for Bhattacharya has been the vaccines, “which really do protect against death,” he said. “It’s a miraculous development, and we should just be celebrating it.” By driving down deaths and hospitalizations, especially for the most vulnerable populations — the elderly and people with preexisting health problems — “we have greatly succeeded, and to me, that’s the endpoint of the epidemic because we really can’t do better than that.

The virus will continue to mutate and there will continue to be outbreaks, both seasonal and in geographic clusters, but “panicking over case numbers is a recipe for continuing unwarranted panic,” he said.
Bhattacharya is ready to resume most pre-pandemic activities. He recently made his first overseas trip, to England, “and it was wonderful,” he said, “even with a mask.”

Gandhi, too, has concluded that as scary and dangerous as the delta variant has been, “we’re sort of at the peak of the pandemic because the delta variant is causing immunity like crazy. Delta comes in like a hurricane, but it leaves a lot of immunity in its wake.
Although its rapid spread and severe impact on some people are scary, the delta version has a hidden benefit: It makes future variants less likely to be more lethal, Gandhi said.

Covid isn’t going away — “we’re going to get it,” Gandhi said — but as immunity increases, the virus will cause less harm. People will come to terms with it as they have with the common cold or the flu.
“Unless you just sit in your room, you’re going to get it in your nose,” she said, “but at least in this country, it will be manageable.”
The big problem now, Gandhi said, is fear, “excessive fear of the pandemic on both sides,” she said. “Democrats overestimate the death rate and Republicans underestimate it
.”

The last quote pretty much epitomizes the current state our country is in, constant fear mongering from people like yourself, politicians and medias who are loving every minute of this airtime they get on their network channels. I also agree with her, perhaps people like myself don't take it as serious as we should,at least in the isolated instance of how I think of Covid on my own personal health, which ultimately is the only factor that matters, but nevertheless,we should always be thinking of those around us.

I also add this quote from the article.

“I truly, truly think we are in the endgame,” said Monica Gandhi, an infectious-disease specialist and professor of medicine at the University of California at San Francisco. “The cases will start plummeting in mid- to late September and by mid-October, we will be in a manageable place, where the virus is a concern for health professionals, but not really for the general public.”

Look forward to her somehow being discredited.

Not sure what this has to do with me. I'm a massive supporter of vaccination, and have said here many many times. That's always been the end game here.
