Vic How would you rate Daniel Andrews' performance as Victorian Premier?

Labor signing up to sell Victoria the Chinese. The link above shows how Sri Lanka built a massive port where no ships go resulting in the port plus 10,000 acres being handed over to the Chinese.

As the article states, Sri Lanka was hungry for financing. Victoria, on the other hand, has a triple A credit rating. With lending being very cheap right now there is no good reason to make ourselves incumbent on a foreign state government for raising capital.

It's another example of Victoria being out of step with the rest of Australia. Victoria is the only state to go against the advice from our national security agencies
and make such a deal with China. All of Australia’s policy, analysis and intelligence agencies, see the BRI as a Beijing play for geo-strategic influence and power. The Federal government refused to sign a BRI. Canberra understood the initiative has a deep strategic objective – to render those drawn into it economically dependent and supine in the face of the Communist Party’s overseas ambitions.

We've seen the Chinese Communist Party’s infiltration of the NSW branch of the Labor Party. It's clear that the Victorian branch is heavily influenced by the CCP. Look out for Daniel Andrews and Tim Pallas, after retiring from politics, taking up highly paid roles with Chinese lobby or investment groups.

Like Andrew Robb, the Liberal government minister who pushed through a free trade agreement between China and Australia before leaving parliament to take up consultancies with Chinese companies with a reported annual income of $800,000.

Or former Labor premier John Brumby. He is chair of the Australia-China Business Council that promotes a 'positive and optimistic' view of China. Brumby is also on the board of Huawei, the telecom giant judged too close to China’s intelligence services to be trusted with Australia’s 5G network.

Bob Carr (former NSW premier) and federal Labor foreign affairs minister after 2013 -

After his resignation, Bob Carr accepted the position of Director, Australia-China Relations Institute, University of Technology, Sydney and Carr also accepted a professorial fellowship with the University of Sydney Southeast Asia Centre as a Professorial Fellow, and in May 2014 became head of the Australia-China Relations Institute, a think-tank at UTS established with a donation from Huang Xiangmo, a Chinese billionaire with links to the Communist Party of China.[84][85][86] Carr is no longer affiliated with the Australia-China Relations Institute.

Dan China's Man beyond tone deaf, massive rise for public servants

It doesn't pass the pub test. Around 1 million people have lost their jobs due to the Wuhan virus outbreak. Even before that wage rises had stagnated in Victoria - apart from the public service. It's not just the pay rises. Since the election of the Andrews government in 2014, the ranks of public service executives have swelled from 646 to 1259, with a median remuneration of $227,517.

Andrews and his ministers are still on track to receive an 11.8 per cent pay rise from July 1, 2020. Daniel Andrews will receive a $46,522 pay rise, bringing his total salary to $441,439 - the highest of all the state leaders. Opposition Leader Michael O’Brien has called for politicians’ pay to be frozen.

The problem is that they’ll freeze it for three years and then raise Chairman Dan’s salary to $500,000.

The Age delivers a strong rebuke of the Chairmans belt and road ambitions.

I get the anti - china sentiment, and i buy into it slightly, we need to be smarter as a state/ country in how we use the Chinese market. But for the last 20 years they have generated enormous wealth for Australia as a country, and created a plethora of jobs in the tourist, educational and construction sectors.

If we exclude this investment, be prepared for massive job cuts, economic depletion. The only way out of this would be to cap the total number of tourists, international students, and limit foreign investment which limits the job cuts but not all.

Too many people jump to the conclusion without not reading the consequences of the actions.

If the belt and road deal is such a great deal for us Victorian’s why is comrade dan going to extraordinary lengths to keep everything a secret? Are dans fanboys able to answer that?

Yeah Comrade Dan, stop keeping secrets and tell us about that thing we already know about.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

So a US govt spokesman has made veiled threats about Victoria getting too close to china, where’s the BF outrage?

seems not the US and China need to learn the meaning of the word ‘friends’.

But I guess both see us as a resources state like most of the Middle East
