Vic How would you rate Daniel Andrews' performance as Victorian Premier?

So let's count the Andrews **** ups

Cedar Meats
Belt Roads
Cutting funding to the fire prevention officers in East Gippsland despite warnings otherwise
Being the last premier to declare a drought in Australia
And now this

Sack this communist ****

If there was any doubt whatsoever that Andrews is well and truly f.ucked, it's the appointment of Steve Bracks by the federal ALP as an administrator. Bracks is a former member of the Labor right faction. Quite a pointed shot across the bows.

Hardly.

The matter in question really is about the branch executiveand not the Parliamentary wing...hence the ceasing of State and Federal Pre-Selections.

So let's count the Andrews fu** ups

Cedar Meats - Poorly handled, but no worse than the Ruby Princess.
Belt Roads - Belt and Road deal, have you bothered looking into what it actually means, or what other states (and federal govt) have dealt with China over the past 20-30 years
Cutting funding to the fire prevention officers in East Gippsland despite warnings otherwise Source?
Being the last premier to declare a drought in Australia Source? Was this because Victoria was last to go into drought?

You wait until it clouds over, and possibly rains (Saturday is looking likely) and its another one to add to the list!

If previous branch stacking scandals are anything to go by, there’s no reason to think that the red faces and recriminations are going to stop at the party room door.

I work with drought relief and a friend is head of the fire prevention for east Gippsland

That is a shit list

No, it is a great list, I could add a few more:

You could add the sell out of the CFA for his unionised mates in the metropolitan fire brigades. Then Dan doesn't care if Victoria regions get burnt out because its fits the narrative of climate change.

Politicalisation of the judiciary and police force as judged by the handling of the Cardinal Pell case, which needed the High Court to step in a margin of 7 to nil over-turn the political show trial.

The politicalisation of the bureaucracy, as demonstrated by the tweeting of Victoria's Deputy Chief Health Officer, Annaliese van Diemen, but napping when the Cedar Meats outbreak despite the warning signs of a cluster infection.

It is an administration that has effectively achieved nothing despite running a one billion budget deficit in 2019. He can probably thank the left media for giving him an armchair ride.

Andrews will ultimately go down as one of the few Premiers to have left the State in a worse position then what he inherited.

The pell part is a good call. The not doing anything bit is unfair though. Metro tunnel, lx removals, hcmt, wgtunnel, ne link etc etc.

Why nothing much happened when Kevin Andrews did it
Nothing was ever really proven in Kevin Andrews’ case. On the other hand MPs like Ann Sudmalis and Belinda Neal have lost their jobs over stacking in recent years.

If it’s really true that a quarter of all Victorian Labor members are the result of branch stacking, a huge swathe of MPs are going to be implicated.

I don’t see how Andrews survives in that situation.

Interesting with the amount of outrage the past few pages, contrast that with the complete silence of the same kind of conservative-leaning posters when the country was burning and Scomo was in Hawaii "because ma kids made me"

Almost like this is completely partisan driven

Please note:

Section 51 of the Australian Constitution limits what any federal government can do in relation to the rights of the States including how to deal with their own land. It was drafted in such a way to enshrine the States’ and Territories’ inalienable rights outside of section 51. Section 51 does not provide any mechanism for a federal government to address land use or disasters etc.

It’s a big concern if Andrews own supporters think he is so incompetent he needs Scotty to save the state when faced with a mild bushfire threat.

But hey if they want the Feds to run the state, maybe Scotty can decide on appropriate punishments for all those involved in the current scandal and take action against the Andrews government.

If they can’t be trusted during bushfire season, they can’t be trusted to do anything right ;)

Play local sport with a guy high up in the SES. In charge of South West Vic and Otways. Same happened there he says.

Fire prevention measure cutbacks and funding shortfalls.

I’m only concerned with his Belt And Roads policy and his communist style lockdown of his citizens. Unlike NSWCROW, I don’t exaggerate other small mistakes like he does with his beloved federal Liberal party.

You would never see conservatives stoop this low...oh no just those bloody nasty red flag waving commies. A shit load of other example from both sides of politics could be posted as well..

you know what would be good? ICAC.Wonder why that hasn’t happened
Same reason it hasn’t happened under any federal government for the last 30 years.

We’ll get one, probably under this government but if not definitely under the next. It doesn’t say anything about the morals of the government that implements it, any more that it says something about the Turnbull government that it legalised gay marriage. It’s simply got to the point where the major parties can’t avoid the subject any longer.

It doesn’t really matter. Like IBAC in Victoria, the major parties will tacitly work together to make sure it is a mostly toothless waste of money.

Someone needs to get off Twitter and actually do some book learning.

Just because #auspol doesnt like Scomo doesnt mean he is actually to blame when the States fail in their duties.

While doing your book learning, read up on the 2010 Royal Commission findings and recommendations.

Though, speaking of Federal powers to intervene when the States fail their duties, are you glad Albo is now in charge of the Vic Labor branch stackers? I assume this means Albo will stack branches to get the pollies he wants?

Because surely branch stacking wont go away. Its a part of the institution.
