Society/Culture Hypocrisy of The Left - part 3

Now we got those PC nuts going apeshit over those wanting to change the date for Australia Day
If it’s disrespectful for the indigenous land owners, it should be changed. The majority of Australians don’t even celebrate aboriginal heritage anyway, they just get pissed and whinge about free speech.

Canadian legislature, New York state legislature, California state legislature.
It’s not up to legislature to determine how a person wants to be addressed, they should be addressed the way they feel represents them best. And you talk about the left being oppressive and shutting you up?

The irony is that your mandate is that the right are oppressed by the left pushing PC to the extremes, but essentially what you’re saying is that an individual must represent themselves from a gender perspective in a way that is governed by law. You also don’t seem to realise that PC is an ideology to try and set a standard against bigotry and racism. It’s not a bad thing. It’s actually trying to make minorities feel included rather than ostracised because of the majority bullying them.

Yet when someone calls out your behaviour as being inappropriate you seem to feel the need to project your voice in the name of ‘free speech’. Remember how aboriginals we’re excluded from voting until 1967? I wonder if they felt that their free speech was being violated by legislature?

You see how your idiotic argument base lacks any thought or credibility? And how you smack of double standards? I mean it’s not hard to identify a racist or a bigot, the majority feel oppressed because they can’t be racists or bigots. I mean you make no sense. You never have. You got away with it forever and a day and no society says no to intolerance and you don’t like it.

How does society favour women? Health? Fine for me, can’t say I’ve been treated poorly by the health system. Pay my private health and it gives me the same privelages as my wife who pays the same. Education? Went to school and went to uni. No issues because I was a guy. Welfare? What, there’s no men on welfare? Laws & Courts? How exactly? Children? No issues there, I’ve got mates that are divorced and see their kids every second weekend. Housing? I live in a house. Tax? I pay income tax on my pay bracket, so does my wife. She actually pays more tax.

Got anything else?
I think it's more loose stuff than objective discrimination like you see directed towards women in the past. I.e. in schools and university there are countless programs to encourage women, the school will bend over backwards to encourage women to get into science and maths, to keep them invested and interested, in uni you have scholarships, societies built around faciltating women. It's not intentional, but it can feel like society sees a woman not getting an engineering degree as a greater tragedy than a man flunking out and shooting himself in the face. Of course it's nowhere as serious a problem as discrimination.

Also if anyone brings up the male suicide rate it feels like it will only be a few minutes before someone comes along to bring up the "men use more lethal means in attempts" to dismiss it as a male problem, which even if 9 out of 10 people are supportive can be disheartening.

Also as for bolded 74% of people sleeping rough in Australia are men. I'm no sociologist, and my perspective probably isn't that well informed, but it seems to me that it is often a much easier path for men to the top of societal success, it can also be an easier path right to the bottom. Open to that take getting called out/debunked though.

I don't know though, I don't feel as strongly about it as it seems most in this thread do. Part playing devil's advocate with a bit of being contrarion, but I do feel a little that way.

What do you want to say that you can’t?
I don't know if people can't say things that they would like to. But more that they have to be so careful in the wording that they use because things can be either taken the wrong way or exaggerated.

People keep talking about "offensive comments" etc. I mean has any level headed person ever been actually offended by someones opinion?

So... you don't actually know ? This thread is now snowflakes posting things that annoy them.

Just run with whatever makes you "feel" better.

Except Jazz is a term that actually means something - PC means anything in the hands of the right - including manners, kindness and being polite.
Heinlein got it a bit wrong -

“An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.”
— From Robert Heinlein’s Beyond This Horizon
ir
.

People are more likely to be armed with social media campaigns and their own spending power -

"Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his livelihood."
