I Repeat! Carrazo Is A Disgrace!

Seriously, I must have been watching a different game to everyone else. I would easily have Carrazzo amongst our best today.

He had a shocking first quarter, but made up for it. Take a look at his pass to Stevens on the boundary line in the last if you think he can't kick.

Seriously, he was a big reason we got back into it IMO.

:eek::eek:

You cant be serious. I like carrots, but he was nowhere near our best today.

I think letting him kick in at times is a big mistake, he certainly has no trouble finding the ball......something just has to be done to improve his disposal and efficiency, but he isnt alone.

There were worst than Carrots out there today I can tell you that much. Seems Carrots is the new Jordan Russell, bloody get off their backs. We lost we lost, stop being a Mark Williams and finding a stupid excuse

Ok whatever lets just forget it and keep playing hacks like Carrazzo and then wonder why we arent getting anywhere. You can defend him all you want but the truth is as long as players like him get a game week in and week out even though they continue to make the most basic of errors we will be a shit team. But hey I guess you guys know best even though Ihave been to every game for the last 25 years and seen some awesome Carlton sides, and trust me they didn't carry hacks like Carrazzo on their squads for long. But yeah what do I know.

I can understand where you are coming from Alpha1........but dropping him now isn't the right idea........(despite me suggesting this in another thread ).

There are a number of players on our list that, well, to be quite honest, are battlers, and try hard, but would not make a premiership side in a fit.

Some examples are Cloke, Carrazzo, and Fisher.

Cloke doesn't win enough hitouts to be a premiership ruckman and doesn't win enough ball around the ground to be a CHF.

Carrazzo gets plenty of it, but often, and not just this week his disposal lets him down.
Yes, I know the efficiency stat, but its often the kick that really needs to hit the target and doesn't that hurts. Would be a depth player at the Cats/Hawks/Dogs.
Fisher has drifted in and out of games too often to be considered a dangerous forward by any club this year. Has had one good year (last year), but unless he marks within 30m he will struggle for distance, and even then he has a habit of pushing them wide (not to all Russ haters ;)).

There are more but I won't go on.

The fact is for various reasons this is what we have to work with. In the coming years Browne and Armfield, maybe Hadley will take Carrazzo's spot, and the curse of the B&F will continue.

But these guys aren't ready and just throwing your hands up and saying this guy or that guy is crap won't make things happen any faster.

Our team is getting stronger, and one by one the weak links will go.......Teague as an example.

Cloke will struggle to hold his spot in the next two years IF Hampson and Kreuzer continue to develop......and so it goes.:thumbsu:

BB there are worse players than the three you mentioned in nearly every Premiership team - they come from your depth players and whoever is playing best out of your depth players at the right time are the lucky ones to get the premiership medal. This does not mean they have not contributed, all it means is that they may have been lucky to be in form at the right time or lucky at some poor injured bastards expense to get one of the last couple of spots. Every now and then one can have a day out and become a premiership hero.

If we don't let Carazzo kick it in, and we let him run off his opponent gathering touches, while he works on becoming a better defender in his back pocket role this year, do you think you could possibly find it in your all-knowing heart of hearts to maybe leave him alone for a couple of weeks?

Because I'll talk to Ratts tomorrow at pilates. Seriously. We'll grab a low fat decaf mocha and just totally dish on the selections this week. Maybe we'll splurge, and get a piece of that delightful looking flourless chocolate cake that tempts us every week. But then we feel bad and run on the treadmill for 20 minutes so that we don't feel guilty.

Or maybe after a loss, people could just keep their mouth shut for about two days, think about what their saying, pull their head from whatever orifice they happen to be keeping it in at the time and talk like regular people. Not like the random forum poster by day, match selection committee by night superhero that you so enjoy playing.

Or you could just fall in a well and die. What do I care?

He is ranked 20 in AFL for possessions - you seem to want to make this a negative thing

and before you start on effectiveness - it is one of our highest at 79% (Juddy 70%)

You have got to be the dumbest carlton supporter i have ever met. Seriuosly how old are you? 11? Geez stop looking at his stats. You along with sherb are pissing me more than carrazo's ball use.

I'm not going to try and say that Carrazzo had a good day, because his didn't, and we all know his kicking can let him down at times. But he blossomed last year as a key midfielder. Thought he was brilliant last year when all we had was Murphy and he was being tagged. He obviously is not as at home as a defender. Loves to just find the footy. So what do we do with him. Is it our fault for playing him as a defender? I guess this is more of question to everyone.

What I am saying is that Carrazzo is a mediocre player along with a few others in the team. As long as some of us supporters/fans keep making excuses for these players they will drag the team down. Carrazzo has been on our list a long time now and yet nothing has improved with his disposals etc. Every week I hear the same shit ohh but he got 30 possies, ohh he won the B&F. We have had 3 duds win our B&F in the last few years so winning our B&F obviously means not a lot. I don't think Carrazzo, Fisher and some others will be on our list and the quicker we get rid of them the better. I hope against hope that Carrazzo can improve 10% but somehow I don't think thats going to happen, Fisher is a great mark and he still has potential but potential is a dirty word. I am happy we have improved out of sight this season under a good coach and some raw talent, but it's time to start trimming the fat of the bones.

Exactly

You cheating on me, Fiveman? Good to see you maintaining a serenely low profile again.

I would start a thread about Your cannibalistic tendencies but I have already got a warning tonight (Sorry again Bee)

Your logic is far too much for me Kouta man (now assuming top posn on Idiot's ladder)

Would it be alright to mention he was amongst the best the last two weeks

ps Sadly I am older and better educated than you (oops Did I say that)

It's a bit late to be defending your honour, son.

Yeah I know man I guess on Carrots we will never see eye to eye ... But hey we both love the Blues and I know we arent far from where we belong like I said somewhere else sometimes we have to take 2 steps back to go forward and hopefully this loss will have taught our boys a thing or two or three.

Persist with him as one of our small defender, did a very good job on Didak last week, had a red hot Monfries today who killed any defender we put on (i think we tried 4 or 5 players), this is the spot for him in the team. With Gibbs, Murphy, Stevens, Simpson, Judd, Bentick/Hadley, Scotland, Walker when he gets back and even Betts to rotate through the midfield, he's simply not effective enough to be apart of it IMO.

Carrazzo was very good last year but we didn't have half the midfield we have this year. No Stevens, no Judd, no Hadley, no Gibbs, i think because our midfield wasn't great he shone. But these players are much more classy and effective (maybe not Hadley) than him that i don't see him fitting in.

Again, persist with him as a small defender, we are really struggling in this position at the moment. Give him time and confidence from playing down back will come, as i said he killed Didak last week, it's way to early to say he isn't a defender as of yet.

So does that make him a better player than Judd? Just because a player has good effectiveness means nothing. Most of his possessions were probably little chip kicks that went sideways.

exactly, hes too scared to kick more than 20 meters bcoz he knows he has a crap kick

The biggest issue with the Carrots is that opposition coaches know how average his disposal is so they zone off him all the time.

He needs to start making the most of his possessions otherwise this will continue to hurt us.

I wasn't quite going to start a thread but I agree he needs a spell in the Ants to redifine his skills. His kicking and general sloppy defence was a huge factor why Essendon went into quarter time some 6 goals in front. He is turning the ball over way too many times for a back pocketer whose skills need to be spot on.

I admire Carrazzo and certainly respect him, but at the moment he is just paddling. He isn't damaging enough to play on the ball and today showed again he is struggling as a permanent BP.

I may be wrong, and if someone has already posted what i'm about to say then sorry (but i couldn't be bothered reading thru 5 pages of posts) but Carrazzo was a large part of us getting back into the game in the last quarter. As soon as he was in the middle for the bounces we started winning the clearances.

Some of you "supporters" need to watch everything a bloke does, not just stew and fester over their errors. OVERALL, Carrots was ok yesterday.
