Improving the fan experience at Simonds Stadium

There are similar threads (eg Membership to be made about the members) so if this needs to be merged apologies to the mods, but thought it was worthy/different enough for a newy.

What are some ideas of the people to improve the fan experience at Simonds? If they want fans to be louder they need to work on ways to get fans more engaged/excited. That screaming cat after every goal isn't up to scratch.

Should we have a song like Port Adelaide? 'Highway to hell' could be a good one, particularly for Melbourne teams (could build on it with maybe a billboard or two on the highway). Maybe their could be something all supporters do as the team runs out/before the bounce, I don't know just throwing them out there.

I feel like we could do something with the second verse of the club song, dunno what though. Could maybe play it as the team runs out after half time or something?

That was my suggestion last week dazbroncos. I think it has merit and I emailed the club with the suggestion. Guess we'll have to wait and see if they take it on board.
I think during night games the use of coloured lights could assist with atmosphere. Perhaps after a cats goal or when they run onto the ground, blue and white coloured lights could flash around the ground or beams of lights from the top of the stands. Live entertainment prior to the game would also be handy. Perhaps they could utilise that marquee behind the Ablett terrace for a band or dancers.

Minor thing in the overall but the club song is cringeworthy - sorry John K. Would love a song that gets the blood pumping.

......but I always just feel like I'm in this sterile styrofoam manufactured bubble when they try to create something. Is it really us ?

Like the Bell in the ute...or the Cats growl... in fact I think some sort of Geelong chant after the goal would reflect what happens naturally (occasionally) and the Bell...perhaps that should be over the speakers or something. Not sure it works atm.

Start a song like Port?. Oh that would be so original , make us look like such CopyCats. And what would we play , some generic geriatric song? Dont forget the age of our supporter base... we are very definitely the Silver Cats.

No doubt I'm getting older and less tolerant but all this superficial crap just dumbs down my enjoyment. For instance..I thought have a big scoreboard would be good...but the constant barrage of adds before and during games at breaks , and their volume make me wish we had no scoreboard at all. Just let everyone bring an Ipad and let them connect into a wifi.

Im not sure they can do anything that would increase my game day experience without making it worse some how , some other way.

What about some live music outside the ground . But something that we could make our own. Relate us to live Blues or Country...not just something that popular and not special.

Play the beginning of Hells Bells and utilise the Corio Bay bell that they have been using as part of that for when the players are coming onto the ground.
Could have a different member/past player doing it for every home game

I don't mind that.... But the Dees do that before home games.. The bells toll, then the song starts before they run out.

Falcons play in the morning, followed by the twos, more football less bullshit. It is the footy right? I mean FFS live entertainment etc give me a spell. Go see a concert! When was the last concert/entertainment you were at, and during the break they did handball/kicking comps? So when I'm at the football what do you think I want to see (just take a wild guess)?

Easy science this one, u/18's then twos then seniors because it's a football day.

Of course it's not what the fans go for but live entertainment adds to the atmosphere - just ask anyone that's been to a game at Adelaide Oval recently.

Put some of those ribbon barriers up like they use in cinemas for people lining up for food behind the premiership stand, so that the lines wind and are parallel to the counters, leaving space behind for people to walk through.

Also re. the OP. Kudos for trying to come up with ideas for a better experience at KP. But imho it's a fight you are not going to win and nothing will change. It hasnt changed for over 20 years now.

I'd love a song similar to What port does but we don't get the crowd numbers and the atmosphere isn't always the best. They don't label as handbaggers for nothing. Maybe once the new stands are up we will see a full house more and then we could try it. Not sure on a song choice though.
