Worrying news for all of us with Higgins.

The Bulldogs appear certain to be without Shaun Higgins for Saturday's clash with Sydney in Canberra.

Though the Bulldogs have yet to officially rule out Higgins, they are intent on taking a cautious approach with the dangerous forward and midfield star.

"He's just got soreness around the groin," football manager James Fantasia said.

"We're not 100 per cent sure what it is. He's had it before."Higgins missed Sunday's loss to Collingwood, but the Dogs are adamant the injury will not impede his long-term future.

"The temptation is to play him, but wiser heads are prevailing," Fantasia said. "Don't rule him out completely, but we think he may have to miss one more.

Injury woes started early this year. You pick Jack becuase of his durability and what happens... Out for 6 a few rounds in. FFS. Longmire probably made it 3 times worse by leaving him out on the pitch.

Higgins is really not up to it. I will keep him, but he is only a 3-4 weeker away from getting upgraded.

The kid is softer than baby shit

Might be good to upgrade him to Chapman.
( Who also has injury issues, but is likely to get knocked right out rather than try to play through a bout of low scoring OP ).

Higgins is a player who can miss 3-4 weeks in a row with soreness. Think I'll just stick him on my bench this week and deal with him next week.

Hopefully they're just being cautious and it isn't OP. I could handle him missing a week if it means he isn't put at any further risk.

I'm not ****ing around with him this year.

With 23 trades in hand he'll become Pav or Chapman.

This, this and this.

Agree that it might have to wait til next week though :(

Update on Rioli:

Official Hawthorn Website said:
Hawthorn Football Club can confirm scans have revealed only minor bleeding in Cyril Rioli’s right hamstring.

With the Hawks having the bye this weekend, further assessment will be made in the lead up to the Round 7 Port Adelaide match.

A further update will be provided next Tuesday, in the Hawks regular injury update.

Sounds like a possible Round 8 return, which is good news for his owners.

The motion has been seconded and now thirded Higgins is gone.

Trading him in last year was possibly the biggest net loss I've had on a trade.

Oh and 23 trades left Biggie, that's impressive :thumbsu:

I'm gonna give Higgins a week. If there is any more soreness, He is straight swap to Chappy.

Bewick's probably out for another week based off comments the Lions' staff have made, but I figure anyone still holding on to him are in for the long run.
Im one of those.

Have no choice but to hold onto him, hasn't nearly made enough money.

Hope Prestia can get a recall however.
