"I will sell you this car, its only been driven by grandma to church on Sundays!"
"Sweet! Your a such a straight talking bloke and an ethical car salesman honest John!"
If you are referring to John Hughes ("just over the causeway in Shepparton Road, Victoria Park") the last time his grandma was in church would have been in a box.

Lol
You're such a contradiction.

You were banging on previously that Winder should be kept in the side this week instead of Ryan.
Ryan apparently has too many credits in the bank.

Overlooking the fact that Ryan was injured not dropped and Winder hasn't touched the footy for 3 weeks.

Then in another thread, you were saying guys like Winder and Co just weren't good enough to be keep getting a game.

Your one of those who twists everything fit your narrative.

Not at all.. Ryan has played garbage all year came back in the wafl and seems to have only been interested in trying to whack blokes behind the play or late.the same stuff he got rubbed out for in the first place…

Both at best form should ryan be left out for winder ? No way… but neither are in best form and winder at least showed something recently more than ryan. Ryan to me doesnt look like he wants to play at all atm and hasnt all year. Winder has 10 games to show if he is upto it.

Yeah I saw that, and thought “what morons are wilfully signing up to witness this rubbish week in and week out?” 😳
I assume the number includes overseas members. It is cheaper to get an overseas membership through your club to get the Watch AFL app than sign up directly to AFL. That applies to all clubs of course, but does inflate numbers a bit as its not a normal go to game membership.

So you think Winder should play seniors this week and Liam Ryan should play wafl?

OK.

Whats going to be the difference one way or the other… an overweight unfit ill disciplined disinterested ryan or an overweight unfit potentially sore knees winder??

Can’t believe Ryan just ran around trying to whack people and didn’t even manage to get himself reported, or even give away a single free kick.

Shows a complete lack of commitment.

Simpson said in 50/50 calls he would err on the side of youth.

But Winder vs Ryan, or Culley vs Shuey, or Williams vs Darling aren't 50/50 calls.

His suggestion is more around Nelson/Witherden/Foley/Hurn vs Hough/Bazzo, maybe Cripps forward or Redden in the middle may miss a game or two also.

Likely means keeping CJ or B Williams (or both, at the cost of team balance) in when Nic comes back, pushing out a Waterman or possibly Kennedy at stages.

I’m not sure how anyone with a fully functioning collection of grey matter could argue that Winder should get a senior spot over Ryan.

And I’m not sure we’ll ever find out.

The message in this article for me, is still all wrong

I interpreted what Simpson was saying as "we will try and play the kids, however with our senior players coming back they will take selection and positional precedence until which such point they retire"

Which is entirely the type of "credits in the bank" mentality that got us into this mess in the first place
To be honest...which youngster has actually shown anything this year.

Hough, jaimeson kinda.

Barely notice foley

Take great pleasure in knowing that his second wife has been beating him up for 30 years. With how he looks and her personality I think she was hoping he would have died 20 years ago but he's like a ****ing cockroach and his company's sales teams are now run by the dodgiest of the successful sales guys from long in the past.

I have what I call a breakup of how I consider general intelligence in relation to the population.
10% Just too stupid and can't help themselves. Wouldn't matter what country they were born in or what family they were raised in would still be idiots.
80% every day people, most of which think they know everything but mostly know **** all and are just the general populace who work for others or have half dodgy small businesses.
9% Gifted to Genius level people. Mostly depressed, purely because they know they live in a world with the other 90%. People who have social skills as well as a great ability to learn, lead others and make positive change in the world. Highest rate of suicide.
1% Genuine genius level intelligence but no social skills so may as well be in the bottom 10%

Neither should be playing in the A team this weekend based on their performance in the WAFL last weekend. That goes for Rioli too. Sheed should be the only inclusion from the WAFL side. And while I'm at it, Yeo should play another game in the twos this week and see if he can run into some sort of form before being considered for a recall.

Based on recent performance/credits in the bank/fitness/injury or whatever metric you choose to use I’d guess there’s about a dozen players (and that’s generous) who could be justified in getting a game on merit at the moment

So that leaves roughly a dozen other players to be selected who in all honesty don’t deserve to play seniors but will be needed to field a team

With that in mind I can’t really blame the MC for picking players like Ryan as an example who aren’t demanding selection but will in all likelihood be picked ahead of someone like Winder as an example because of a proven record of playing to a higher ceiling

This isn’t the same as round 5 when players who’d done well against Collingwood made way for underdone senior players. Barely anybody is performing well so merit based selection isn’t possible

With a shortening injury list, hopefully there becomes some genuine competition for spots because so far this season it’s been non-existent

I hope you thought the send off for John's Gran was worthy.
She cut a fine figure in the dance halls back in the day

Part of the MCs selection policy, for the remainder of 2022 at least, needs to include not gifting games to players with bad attitudes.

Rioli didn't look fit in the WAFL, but he looked like he wanted to play (as much as this can be gauged on TV). Would be happy to see him straight into the side.

Ryan appears to just be coasting. It shouldn't be a question of Ryan vs Winder, it should be a question of whether him playing seniors reinforces the credits in the bank attitude.

They're just a couple contrasting examples, but the sentiment applies to the whole squad. We need to change the culture that seems to have gone downhill post-2018. Selection for seniors plays a role in that.

Love Woosha's contribution:

‘Woosh’ (Worsfold) sits there and goes, ‘so who won the fight?’ I’m looking at Chicky and he’s looking at me and we’re a bit sheepish, tale in between our legs. Neither of us answered the question,” he said.

“Then Woosh said, ‘well, judging by he fact that there’s no bruises on both of you, it must have been a pretty s**t fight’
