Great analysis. 🙄

Will probably be intentional high low.

Hopefully can argue careless because Heeney was trying to push off at what is normally chest height

they changed the rule for careless last year. You cant get careless for off the ball fends etc now.

Sportsbet have suspended his Brownlow odds.

AFL have no way out of this one.

It will be graded as Careless and In Play.

Careless-Medium-High = 1 Week.

wrong.

The AFL changed the rule last year. They specifically sited play where players are hitting other players to try and create space, which is what Heeney did exactly, to the exact wording of the new rule.

This by the AFL's own rules cannot be graded careless.

The AFL will give it a crack no doubt to get him off, we all know the AFL will lick that pole clean if possible, but it will have to be another way than grading it careless.

Correct that the rule has been changed, but the AFL will weasel out on a single word.

(D) STRIKING Where a Player intends to forcefully push or fend an opposition player off the ball (including to gain separation for the purpose of contesting the ball) and the effect is that the player “strikes” their opponent, the strike will usually be graded as Intentional. Further, the requirement that the potential to cause injury in relation to striking must be a potential to cause a “serious” injury has been removed.

If Zach Merrett lost the Brownlow off that I'd be furious, but he'll cop a suspension.

True, but that's exactly what the rule is there to stop. You cant smack a bloke off the ball, draw blood and then get upset for a suspension.

The AFL will do all they can to kiss that dick

So i wouldn't be surprised in the slightest.

Obviously got skin in the race with Cripps but seems a fairly straight forward suspension to me.

AFL open up every loop hole to get favourites in contention off though so won't be surprised to see him get off.

Just another chapter to add to the Kane Dillon clown show

Don’t care if he gets off or not we all know the AFL help Sydney.
-playing grand finals in victoria when we finish top
-getting trade banned and having cola stripped off us because Fitzpatrick had a tantrum for Franklin not going to GWS.
-2016 Grand Final umpiring.
-Goodes being driven out of the game.

Yeah, 'looked after.' Meanwhile lovable losers Stkilda getting funnelled millions by the AFL to exist for general incompetence.
