Mid East Israel declare war after Hamas attack III

i'm still trying to work out how we're officially happy to have officially designated terrorists in charge in syria......and israel killing and starving children...although i've been instructed to ignore that
Our government position is embarrassing at the moment.
Matter of fact the whole world has embarrassed itself over the middle east.

Love him or hate him Paul Keating stood on his podium and wasn't afraid of having an opinion.

I agree. I'm no expert on china but we dont always have to have the same policies as the US. I was genuinely shocked to see the photo of the PM coming out a jewish building in melb with his little hat on. I agree that leaders need to forge connections with various groups in a multinational population, but I think that he has gone too far. They all have. Palestinian Australians must be wondering who the PM represents.

I commented on whether dutton would congratulate a fellow queenslander for probably being our finest athlete in half a century, and all he can do is fixate about antisemitism and dropping the indigenous flag. And yet there are lots of people who would support him.

And to those who say markfs is sowing division like dutton, I say get the fundamentals right. Get the right flag, instead of that useless british thing that we've got. Get the right australia day. And get the right middle east policy based on the right of individuals not to be shot and starved. At the moment we are blindly following US/Israeli interests expecting a truncheon at any minute. Dutts might be keen.

Prefiero morir de pie que vivir de rodillas

Our part-time PM is back investigating graffiti in Melbourne. It's said that it's happening all the time now. Well I havent seen it on the BBC news site before......"graffiti in melbourne"..."dragnet across the city"...."all police resources engaged in the pursuit" .

I sense frustration amongst the locals. They are pushing the PM and the cops to do more. We should be putting the two teens in detention and not telling their families for a year or more....and then some truncheon work... the local cops are just too soft

Such a lose lose situation, especially for a democratic free country such as Australia.

Really? Australia, travel warning?

The travel warning system has become highly politicised in recent time. For example Australia has a travel warning against China, one of the most crime free places on earth, for ordinary tourists because apparently they are at risk of being arrested for being "political dissidents".

There's no travel warnings against the US for Australians even due to the high rate of crimes, gun violence, police murdering citizens (Justine Damond), police arresting you if you look at them the worng way, health system which will bankrupt you if uninsured or let you die if you're pregnant and needing reproductive care.

An Australian travelling overseas is far safer in China than the USA, but due to politics we have to pretend the US is "safe" and China "dangerous".

Travel warnings today are politicised BS. This was issued by Netanyahu's government as a ploy to criticise Labor.

Labor should respond by elevating Israel to "Do Not Travel" status due to their nation being run by a war criminal with an arrest warrant out in their name.

It's more complicated than that, if you're a white Australian tourist, China is one of the safest places to travel to on the planet, but if you're Chinese Australian with business links there, - or a journalist, artist, writer - becoming a political prisoner is a genuine risk and the advice of caution is appropriate. China usually tops the list in terms of Australian prisoners, with many of them political. And it's only a higher level of caution warning - China is the same warning level as the UK so it's not as ally related as you're suggesting.

well try to explain how the people in charge are happy that a registered terrorist organisation is leading syria...

as for doing anything to upset israel, I think they would hit back hard economically. Australians would be hurt and they would be throwing out the ALP....and i think dutton suits netty fine

Here you go. This is what the USA officially advise.

  • Households with infants and young children should plan for food and supplies, such as diapers and wipes, formula or baby food, and a change of clothing.
  • If you take medication, make sure to have at least five days’ worth at any given time – if you can, we encourage enough for two weeks beyond your scheduled trip and have a copy of your prescriptions handy.
  • If you use assistive or medical devices that require a power supply, be sure to find backup power or other ways that will sustain your device or equipment during a power outage.
  • Draft a will and designate appropriate insurance beneficiaries and/or power of attorney.
  • Pray that the IDF makes a good clean head shot

Not a bad template for community organisations..... trash a car and get a funded museum or sports centre. I bet that I'll get a community notice in my postbox in the next week..."help us burn a car this weekend"

There has been anti Turkish and anti Kurdish graffiti in broadmedows for years and never a police investigation or politicians decrying it in the press.
