I just had a brief interlude reading a comment page by sam clench who writes for rupert on political things. He was going on about how elon was supporting a minor party in germany - AfD.

Most of the article is hysterical and probably indicates whats required to get hits on the net, but I did some research on the party. The party is a neo anti-immigration nationalist etc etc right winger but it did support israel like most german institutions which have been israel's biggest ally after the US.

But two months ago, its leadership swapped sides.....and it reflects the real feelings of the german people. And Sam writes his article, coincidence?....a state of flux as they used to say.

Caught between praising this and probably suggesting that palestinians need to go to their whatsapp groups and plot more economic weapons.

The praise is with the low-key sensible presentation and the interview of the young man who is perfectly reasonable and will appeal to australians generally.

However, the idea that a few harsh words by some israeli tourist in king's park is enough to justify engagement and then complaints....just doesnt take into account that the media is owned by their adversaries. It is stiched up completely. The West Australian newspaper is a side edition of the Jerusalem Post. You've just got to accept the fact that the media here is not going to be fair, reasonable or even mildly just. So bleating about the aussie media experiences the fate of most anti-israeli bleating - people ignore it.
