Immigration is obviously where the coalition want the debate to be, but as you say they are never held to account in the same way.
Much of the current z’insane levels’ are inherited from the coalition policy settings.
Even though the number of articles on immigration seem to double daily, not once is it mentioned that Dutton is blocking any legislation to address it. Clearly wants it to be a bigger problem he can exploit.

Like Abbott with Manaus
I don’t want to get into an off topic debate especially regarding Australian politics as I couldn’t be more disenchanted with Labor and the Libs, I do want to touch upon a point you made however.

You say that immigration is where the coalition wants the debate to be, well to me they are both completely captured and they both serve the same masters, and those masters absolutely want us (the 99.99%) arguing over race, over sex, sexual preference etc.
I think the there are negative motivations behind the mass immigration we are seeing in the west. I think it will increasingly used by the oligarchs to keep us fighting with each other instead of directing it towards the 0.01% through “astroturfed” movements.

Like Tommy Robinson for example, fully funded by wealthy Israelis to incite violence.

I wonder who funds australians to be so concerned about hollywood, and influencers and royalty and married with whatever and all the other stupid irrelevant trivialities of life....who funds these australians to be so stupid after 13 years of schooling and often 4 or more years of tertiary education...

So in the single most important topic to Australians.....antisemitism....we have bridget mckenzie saying that the gov't is actually giving off pheromone signals that is encouraging antisemitism. She's a national of course.

These people are obsessed....is funding that tight?

As found in the voice referendum, Australians want all groups treated equally before the law

its a worthwhile comparison and I look at it another way. I wonder why political leaders are showing passion for one group, when they couldnt be bothered with the situation for indigenous australians during that debate. Why this manic empathy for one group? Excuse me if I am a little cynical and believe that it smacks of self-interest.

Conservatives are the only ones who want to argue over those things you mention. Progressives have no issue with other peoples colour, gender or sexuality, or any other faux issue that has zero impact on anyone's life except the person living it.

Yep. Rants about identity, interjected with claims of hating the left for identity politics. It's so ridiculous.

It most certainly does.
Another thing with the anti voice was that it was critiqued that it made some more equal than others based on ancestry, yet King Charles is our head of state

It’s also weird that ‘the left’ are accused of defending Islam particularly rabid right Islam (violent) when it’s clear the left are not fans of religion full stop.

The left is anti discrimination. Simple as that

time for the elite thinkers to report on their whatsapp groups....

i dont know if i'm considered left because evidently i'm antisemitic but I dislike most religions equally. I dont mind judaism because they dont recruit....and buddhism is relatively nice too, and i must say that if religious people lived in one area like the amish or kept to themselves, i'd be happier. Not that i cant deal with them. In fact, i find hardliner religious people interesting....

but in short, we really should move on from this mumbo jumbo...

Really ? Are we going to put a voice for Jews into our constitution?

Obviously not as that would require a vote, but like new york, I can see legislation being introduced that makes it illegal to criticise israel.

And you might think that concept is outrageous, but I ask myself, Albanese is criticised daily for not doing enough. What could he do? He can only introduce legislation. I suppose he could contract a huge advertising campaign to tell australians not to criticise israel...or they could incorporate it into schools - and I think we might see that too. However the New York legislation indicates the direction that the lobby wants it to go.

Did Jews live here for ~ 60,000 years prior to the British turning up and sticking a flag down?

There's some pretty obvious reasons why Aboriginal Australians and their incredible history here should be recognised a bit differently to the majority of us who've rolled in over the last 200 years.

I agree .
I was responding to Markfs suggesting it was a good comparison.

I was thinking of a comparison between the passion felt by conservatives for the local jews and for israel and the apparent lack of passion for the indigenous population during the vote - although you could argue that they were passionate to advocate that the indigenous people shouldnt be singled out for special treatment.

Evidently the cut-off is about 2000 years regarding rights for land...although you could wonder why conservatives passionately recognise 2000 years for one group and dismiss 60,000 years for another.

People are dumb. They're all about it when it's in a faraway land. They're not all about it in their own backyard.
