Tim Pallas is in New York desperately trying to persuade Moody's and S&P not to downgrade Victoria's credit rating which is already the lowest of any state in Australia. It is well known in the market that the agencies are closely monitoring Victoria's debt reduction strategies, and it is also well known the agencies don't like what they are hearing and seeing.
Because they are public servants not a good enough reason?

The investigation revealed that many of the bikies and criminals acting as CFMEU delegates are employed on federal and state government-funded projects, particularly Victoria’s $100 billion-dollar Big Build road and rail infrastructure program, amid a systemic failure of policing agencies to combat the problems.
The Victorian construction division of the CFMEU has contributed significant resources and support to the Victorian ALP, where it plays, in particular, an influential role in supporting the government’s mammoth infrastructure agenda. When the father of secretary John Setka died last year, then senior minister Jacinta Allan attended his funeral.
Maybe one of the reasons the projects blew out in costs ?
In one extraordinary case in Melbourne, a convicted criminal and bikie figure appointed as a CFMEU health and safety official, earning an estimated $250,000 a year on one of Labor’s Big Build projects upgrading the Hurstbridge rail line, used a car assigned to conduct worker safety checks to engage in bikie gang activities.
Anti-bikie detectives only stumbled onto crime figure Joel Leavitt’s Big Build union role when he was shot at the Rebels bikie clubhouse last year, sparking an ongoing Echo taskforce probe, Operation Spitfire, into what police said was suspected “rivalry” involving “outlaw motorcycle gangs”.

I was going to say "good riddance to bad rubbish" regarding Setka, but knowing that Aussies are Failing upstairs society, I am afraid that's not the last we'd see of him.

It’s why so many hate the media, sure they’re useless most of the time but without them we’d have never known how bad Victoria’s hotel quarantine was. We’d still be believing Dan that it was Victorians doing the wrong thing and not the Andrews Labor Government.
I think we're getting to the point where, much like the Shoppies Union themselves, the ALP/Unions exist in a feedback loop where retaining power for the Union leaders and ALP members in a symbiotic relationship is more important to all of them than the actual well being of the people they purport to represent.
The longer this goes on, the more people leave Unions and the more people will leave the ALP.
The 2-party system is being blown up from within by corrupt union officials with their own agendas and god-botherers infiltrating the LNP and bringing them down from within.
Good riddance to the two-party system. (Even though the ALP and LNP are desperately passing laws to prevent the rise of minor parties in the only bi-partisanship seen for decades)
I was about to shift a lot of Super into an Industry fund, but you know this nonsense of supporting criminal groups to retain power for those on the boards is definitely going on there too.

How weak is Jacinta Allen? The CFMEU scandal has been exposed with Nick McKenzie calling Victoria a "gangland state" and the government well and truly implicated. And Jacinta Allen says she won't be saying anything until the end of this week?
Dan was loathsome but at least he was an astute politician. Jacinta is just dumb with no thought for the people of the state she leads, and one thing on her mind - self preservation.

Dan was worse the only reason he appears better is he was better at being deceitful and defending the integrity agencies thay would have seen him exposed

And the cost of business is organised crime figures driving themselves to hospital in taxpayer funded cars after being shot in order to get infrastructure built. The taxpayer paying for those cars and wages while hospitals advise staff to turn off lights when they leave a room.
An aside: remaining the leader for the worst thing you want to hear on the other end of the phone: "Hi, this is Nick McKenzie from The Age".
