Yeah 4% is about right. I'd bet the Premier has some fairly educated health experts throwing those figures around before stating it.

the point is if Jack is a risk to team mates and staff being unvaccinated, does him being unvaccinated increase the risk to others catching covid, also do RAT tests allow that risk if any to become an acceptable risk? If the players or club say that Jack is a medical risk to them then do they also not go to the supermarket shopping or to the petrol station because i would assume the risk is greater in the general population. I would assume the risk is greatest to Jack himself if he is unvaccinated and not to the vaccinated around him, if he's the one taking the risk then i dont see the problem with him playing. Its pretty clear the vaccinated spread the virus as much as anyone or we wouldnt have omnicron at all.

I can kind of understand his decision, I know people who have done the same thing and thrown it all away over refusal of the jab… it’s his right to do this but really this is all a bit silly.. the guy looks fit, the squad looked like it was going well and this could have broader consequences on the year outside of his position on field now being vacant. These footballers can be rather precious…

Hurry back Jack

The guy is seriously lacking a brain... claims a work related injury in the one industry that publicly reports work related injuries. :tearsofjoy:

Loved this guys take on it:

You see, Jack, a professional footballer with access to near 24/7 medical support, has seen a non-club doctor, for a private consult relating to an injury he picked up as a professional footballer.

That private doctor has since given him a medical certificate relating to that undisclosed football injury, which was then sent to the club (the one with their own medical team), to excuse him as a professional footballer due to the footballing injury he received whilst at the football club he is unable to attend.

It's all very normal and people second guessing his motives should be ashamed. So ashamed that they should go and get a medical diagnosis for that shame which excuses them from posting their views on this online platform, except to confirm they have a medical diagnosis that limits them from posting on this platform.

This screams of him not only not getting vaccinated, but pulls out his own doctor to write him a note saying he's suffered a workplace injury preventing him from working (back injury / head injury whatever).

So then he'll expect or file a lawsuit for his full pay rather than 25% of base level.

What a campaigner. It better not hold up.

If he truly had an intent on returning to training he'd have gotten vaxxed and worked with the club doctors.
If the injury story was true surely he would have to prove it for it to hold up legally. Would there be any doctor(s) foolish enough to risk their own career and good standing for such a patent fabrication? If he’s anti vax why doesn’t he just come out and say that instead of concocting some absurd injury story. It seems he doesn’t want to wear the consequence of being a-v, that is no more highly paid footballer’s wage. Wants to have his cake and eat it.

Personally don’t understand his decision, but appreciate he has the convictions to follow through with it.

I think it unlikely that the requirements will change any time soon. He’s not missed much footy the last 12 years, so I am wondering if he will change his mind when the games start again.

But if not- I wish him well. He’s been a terrific servant of the club for a long time and a premiership player and he deserves to be remembered for that if this is the end.

Kellys mrs commented on how he was forced to take shot for his job. Darlings mrs commented back..not going to help his case for not being at training for another “injury” lol silllllly.
Where’d you see that? I thought she only posted something about “standing with you brother” on Jack’s Insta post.

Not strong enough in his convictions to own up to it publicly. Pretty weak if you ask me.

Honestly his post annoys me more than his decision.

Actually he doesn’t have the convictions to go through with it, hence the concocted rant about “workplace injury” because he doesn’t want to forego his circa $700k a year contract. Won’t be able to support his family on 25% of the AFL base player payment. I assume his missus isn’t vaccinated either so she wouldn’t be able to work in her field either.

If he is going down the “coercion induced stress” legal path he’s not going to win many fans within the club nor with the majority of supporters. Having said that, the moron brigade and UAP bots have come out in force in support of Jack on Twitter.

JD has probably averaged 500k+/yr across his career for over a decade. House would be paid off, cars owned or free. Reckon they could live easily through this season without much issue.

The main problem I see is the mandates won't be isolated to season 2022. If he's hoping the mandates are going to be relaxed at some point he is going to be very disappointed. Not too late to get into male modelling, Jack. Or Onlyfans.

U think like Jack. It is an AFL mandate. He isnt playing until vaccinated.

Dumb Jack may soon learn that lawyers get paid more than footballers. And he will lose.

Pardon me for infiltrating your forum but, Jack is or was a confusing bloke. Strong brilliant one minute and woeful the next but overall, pretty impressive. On his position regarding the jab, I think that you need look no further than his mother-in-law for the cause!
