Remember we were in cahoots with Sydney a few years ago with a plan that allowed them to keep their second rounder when one of their academy picks were bid on, if paying Graham an extra 100-200k (and triggering a start of second round pick instead) meant we got something more with Baker we absolutely would have done it. Reckon we came to the table with an idea like this and Richmond for whatever reason chose not to agree or play along.

You decided what to pay Graham it has nothing to do with what Richmond offered him

Really lol

So eagles wanted to pay extra to get Richmond a better pick and richmond refused
you must be on some good gear mate

West Coast finishing bottom 2 last two years, and having all the cap space, yet still only giving your free agents minimum money probably says it all about how the rest of the league sees your list.
Very good possibility that Graham pick #42 is better than a contracted Macrae & Daniel
what does that say about the doggies players ?

Somehow I expected that compo. My guess is the part of the secret spices is that the Tigers are likely to have a great draft hand this year. So the AFL decided to downgrade the compo.

It makes a mockery of any concept that the system follows the same rules for all.

Oh well, good luck Jack.

Maybe they feel they don't need to.

Do we overrate our own players and think they are worth much more than they are? No, it must be the AFL doing something wrong

I don't care, he is off our books now and we still get a pick that can be included to get Brisbane's 1st rounder.

They need all the points they can get, hopefully it also means we can pry a F2 off them as well.

All I am going off is the media saying how much the contract was for and for how long.

And underlying it is the fact (as far as I am concerned) that the AFL adds some secret spices to FA compo. That means that the 'rules' are more guidelines. Most FA's are straightforward and what you'd expect. Graham's compo seems a bit off. And this year the Tigers are cleaning up in draft picks (likely anyway). So the secret spices drop the compo. They do this all the time. This really annoys me. The AFL adjusts rules to support certain game styles (and so teams). e.g. The Pies won a premiership with a game plan that relied on creating stoppages etc. Then after they won the AFL changed the rule interpretations to make that style less likely to win. Just makes the whole thing dodgy and makes me annoyed.

Pick 42 has a 2 in it

Should still count

I like the way you think, but I think we all have to face up to the fact that WCE has let us all down. Not just the football community, but the entire country should pour scorn upon that shameful organisation.

This failure to step up when it mattered must go down as one of the darkest days in the club's history.
