This always seemed the likely outcome once it was clear Dixon was at the end and Marshall potentially is one concussion away from forced retirement. It was also the lowest priority area of the ground for us to improve and keeps our focus on the midfield. He would have been a good get for us, but the cost seemed too high.

This is the concerning bit.

Its about selling a vision, not just a role within a team. You hear player managers (off the record) talk about the way we do things and this seems to be the way. We talk to you like you're just a cog in the system rather than everything outside of that.

That's the thing, I'm a bit meh about not getting him, but Power will not give a first, neither would/should we have.

Port have a much greater need for him in their forward line, maybe their offer and long term security was better than ours. Combine that with the fact he is best mates with Roezee and its not surprising he didn't pick us.

If we miss on Cumming then that is a much bigger fail.
