I thought I had seen everything, but Fox Footy are even worse than the AFL site!
They say that we are interested in getting pick 14 from the Dogs (fair enough), but then suggest that the pick 14 might become part of the Hately trade!!??
Then, they go on and compound by suggesting that we might also bring Dunstan back from St Kilda, regardless of the failure of this Brouch side deal, because we are looking to repatriate ex-SA players !!?? Give me strength!

AFL would probably find some infringement at a Vic club and then punish the Crows for it, like with Melbourne.

Yep, as much as I have been fed up with the Crows admin and footy department, my biggest issue is with the VFL.
Maybe one day if we manage to jag another flag we will all value it much more given the slanted nature of the competition.
We should have been, there was a loop hole to exploit so it wasnt illegal however the Victorian clubs didnt like it and the AFL marched to the beat of their drum

Last year when Greenwood bailed, Hamish said openly if he can get 4 years elsewhere good luck to him.

It will continue to happen. That’s why I hardly give a shit about our draft hand this year. The best recruits are likely to get picked off because someone else offers a better deal. And we’re way too smart to match.
Because we were not aware if it. They told St Kilda they couldn’t do the trade rather than telling us.
I thought it was because St Kilda didn't want to up Crouch's base salary due to his past injury history?
Do we actually know this or are we speculating?

Do you expect Hately to come directly into the best 22 and play a pure midfield role?
The length of time and lack of news on this front is starting to worry me. Would not be even mildly surprised to see either Sydney or Poort pick him up from under our noses

They have modified the above to now concede that a second round pick may be enough to get the Hately deal done.
No movement on the Dunstan prediction, though.
Scott Thompson was drafted pick 16 and we traded pick 12 to get him.
Thommo's 1st 4 seasons yielded 9, 5, 13 and 12 games.

Not really a fair comparison - Hately won't have to compete for a spot in a midfield already stocked with the likes of Ricciuto, McLeod, Goodwin and Edwards! God, I would kill to have a midfield of that calibre again.
