do you want to maybe start to write something negative to counter this s**t?

This is me being completely lazy but eDPS or Lore or even eth-dog wanna have a go at what happens to our pick (currently pick 21) if a Davey Jnr bid comes in from 15 - 20 and what happens to our second rounder and then subsequent third round selection (currently 39).

Like if Davey is bid on at pick 15, do we receive the 20% discount and then what happens to 21 & 39?

You lose pick 21 and then the excess points value will give us a pick at say 45 or something

Starts to show how important it could be to us sneaking a second pick in before the Davey bid.

Wipes out the floor of any picks after our second should Munkara really slip outside the top 40 (likely not certain)

I’d prefer to trade the pick for a player or trade it for a later 3rd and future 2nd

This.

I don't see how we sneak our second in. North/WC would surely bid with their second, with full knowledge that we would be matching. Why would they let us have the free hit without a bid?

North dont have a 2nd round pick at this stage. A PP could be on the cards obviously.

They'd have to rate Alwyn at that pick and be prepared to take him too. There will be a lot of good players left on the board at the start of the 2nd round and every club will have their rankings. 1st priority for these clubs will be to stick to their guns and pick their targets. They wont be concerned with trying to make us cough up overs.

A bid will come for Alwyn where he fits and right now we are absolutely a chance to get pick 21ish in before anyone is interested.

Closer to the draft we'll obviously have a better idea on where he sits and if he's looking like 15 -25 then we'll trade the pick. Not sure if this is correct but i think you can live trade on the night if a bid comes in earlier than expected.

Can always trade out the second, absorb the points, then trade it back in again.

I'm sure they'd be fine taking him, the point though is every man and his dog knows we are matching a second round bid, so it would be nothing but charity for North/WC/anyone directly before us not to bid.

Depends where in the 2nd round and who is left on the board though. Are you saying you are certain that Alwyn is every clubs 1st or 2nd choice or that they will bid purely because they think we will 100% match in the early 20s?

Alwyn Jnr seems to rate Alwyn Jnr pretty highly
You could be the son of a shy boy for Palmerston, but a few years at a Melbourne Private school will almost certainly turn you into a douche who talks about himself in the 3rd person. Pretty soon he'll be using a nickname for his 3rd person. I wonder if he has "brown wings" to put on his jacket?

The latter, which they would be 100% correct in assuming.

I don't wanna be "that guy" but speaking logically, we haven't really seen much of the Davey twins, so it beggars belief as to why they're mentioned as reasons for improving our team or being the second coming of Jesus or something. I think we need to be more realistic and hold off a bit. Not to mention that Alwyn was primarily the player he was because he was a small in stature and was a pressure tackling forward with speed due to said stature - something these two do not mirror, as they're quite taller than their father, and as such, what worked for Alwyn may not exactly be emulated with his sons.
