When the going got tough in the last quarter, Strathmore midfielder Levi West was at every coalface, winning contested ball and feeding it out to his teammates. Just like his father, Scott West, did in 324 games for the Western Bulldogs.

And in a magical moment, bottom-age Strathmore player Koby Bewick took on his Aberfeldie opponent, bounced the footy and kicked a sublime goal on the run. Just like his dad, Darren Bewick, did in 238 matches for Essendon.

Ultimately, Strathmore got up by eight points. West was awarded the medal for best afield and Bewick booted three of his team’s five goals and was named his team’s second-best player. For Bomber and Bulldogs fans, it was a game that will hopefully prove significant down the track regarding father-son draft selections.

“Koby Bewick has that sense of occasion that is rare in footballers and a touch of brilliance as he showed in the grand final when he took it upon himself to make a difference.”

Cool, another messiah to pull us out from the wilderness

Carlos Egan in a rich vein of form at the moment, 11 goals in 3 weeks with a season best 6 in wildcard round in a 4 point win over Eastern Ranges (63 - 67)

Egan 6 goals, 11d
Naim 1 goal
Taha 1 goal, 6m
Foley 1 goal, 19d, 10 R50, 3 I50
Kakko 0.1,
Allesio 16d, 8m, 7 R50
Nguyen 17d, 5m,
Rode 21d, 9 R50

Davey a contributor for Oakleigh in there 59 - 71 loss to Bendigo today. 14d, 5 tackles, 3 marks the highlights

Carlos Egan was terrific
foley shut Watson down and provided some run
both should be key components of vfl program next year
Are either of them Cat B worthy? If we don't end up doing it with Munkara

Or do we get them to not nominate for the draft and spend a year in the VFL.

ive mentioned Foley before but he sounds like a perfect Cat B rookie type.

Leader :heavycheck:
ok size :heavycheck: (181cm)
seems capable of doing a role :heavycheck: (has some big midfield games with 20+ disposals)
goal kicker :heavycheck:

Carlos Egan seems so tricky to place, 17 goals in 9 games, 11 in last 3 weeks. Seems to enjoy tackling (3.8 per game), whilst the possession count is huge (10.2) looks to stay involved (only 1 goal less game from 9).
167cm isn't ideal, even for a VFL small forward but sometimes when there is something there you simply take the punt. You would be better educated than I so trust your observations but would love to see him even at VFL level.

You’d need to be putting up stupid numbers to get drafted at 167cms.

Tyrone Thorne has been smashing it in the WAFL against men for years and can’t get a go because he’s too short and slight and he’s taller.

Eddie betts 169cm
tippa wouldn’t be much taller
egan terrific in the air
carlos’ defensive pressure was much better

130 goals in any season is brilliant.. Will keep an ear out.
It’s about trying to project where he can play in the afl
my guess is calder will run him through the midfield next year
i reckon Croft is calders best 17 year old

Croft has some big upside just not the runs on the board yet which should be expected

Kobe at 13 looks like he will catch up to his old man’s height in no time.
Wow Egan is tiny. Bewick will catch up to his dad in no time. His old man was only 178 and he looks like he's in the early 170's there.

Yep ngas are cat b worthy. We now have a spot with hird being delisted.

I’m not sure what Carlos clocks for a sprint time, but I know he has an insane vertical leap which is a positive for someone at his height. It’s a shame for because 7-10cm taller and he’s almost a top 30-40 lock as small forward.
