Lol What about Norf? You lot already have a a welcome Polec thread on your forum. I know you constantly miss out on getting players but that smacks of desperation. Don’t count your chickens before they hatch.

Drop by next week for the welcome Wingard thread.

You should start a welcome Sam Durdin thread on the Port board, just sayin.

It's largely a wind up designed to rope in people (like you good self in this instance)

There's only a small handful of people on our board that state it's a done deal, although the media noise is at the level now where most people believe a Polec to walk announcement is now imminent.

I know you constantly miss out on getting players but that smacks of desperation.

Couldn't. Care. Less.

Don’t count your chickens before they hatch.

If he doesn't come, he doesn't come. Life will go on. Gaff & Kelly are the aces in our trade deck.

The take home point of my post, to which you replied, is that you are getting conned in to placing the blame on North, or on Polec, or on anything but your clubs woefully inept administration. This is where your anger really should be directed.

I highly doubt its pick 4 straight up my guess would be Polec + pick 21 and 46 for pick 4

Better let Sydney & Hannaberry know. Best of luck.:thumbsu:

You know it’s a running joke on our board?

But hey - looks like we caught another.

Shame you couldn't understand the rest of what I said.

Understood? You're a newbie to this caper, whereas I have seen it all before.

We want Martin...........days later StKilda want Martin
We want Kelly...........days later StKilda want Kelly
We want Gaff...........days later StKilda want Gaff

We want Polec...............surprise, surprise...............days later StKilda want Polec.

It's amazing how StKilda always seem to follow on our heels. They're NEVER first in line!

You'd reckon the clubs of these players could invent themselves something original by now.

Yeah I did misread your comment. Sorry. I guess it’s because the clubs’ access to external sources of income for their players is so unequal that it distorts the salary cap too much. Collingwood/Richmond etc already have a leg up in that area and it wouldn’t help the overall goal of equalisation to make it worse.

Well also what I'm saying is, why are clubs involved with player sponsorships or endorsements at all? Why can't this be arranged independently, by player, manager and outside entity (eg. Puma and Dustin Martin)?

Again to draw a comparison, LeBron James had a deal with Nike before he even played an NBA game. While a lot of that was dependent on him playing and performing in the NBA, there's no direct involvement from the league or his team. Why isn't there more of this here? What's stopping it? Just feels like so much potential money (obviously wouldn't be to the scale of someone like LeBron, but still) is being left on the table by players, managers, and brands looking for a popular "face" for their product.

Well, it looks like hes going to the saints. they have beaten our offer by 200k per year. if they want him that much, see ya.....
(or is it a play by them for us to up our offer to not have the money for j.kelly?)
play with fire, you might get......

200k? When did North's offer drop from 750 to 600?

Mfw I see St Kilda offering 800k a year over 5 years for the pea heart.

He should take it, and they should walk him straight in to the PSD.

Carlton won't cough up that coin, and the Qld clubs aren't going to want him back. StKilda will get him for free.

Dunno why the Port fans seem elated by this. It's a worse scenario than the one they have with North.
